The US wants to remove the protected status that Bobcats have at the moment. This will cause many more to be killed for their fur. Also, it is impossible to tell the difference between the fur of Bobcat & other Lynx species. I don't have a very high opinion of animal welfare in the US - they are so far behind Europe  >:(
