So very sorry to hear this

_____________________________________________

As much as I loved the life we had and all the times we played,
I was so very tired and knew my time on earth would fade.
I saw a wondrous image then of a place that's trouble-free
Where all of us can meet again to spend eternity.

I saw the most beautiful Rainbow, and on the other side
Were meadows rich and beautiful -- lush and green and wide!
And running through the meadows as far as the eye could see
Were animals of every sort as healthy as could be!
My own tired, failing body was fresh and healed and new
And I wanted to go run with them, but I had something left to do.

I needed to reach out to you, to tell you I'm alright
That this place is truly wonderful, then a bright Glow pierced the night.
'Twas the Glow of many Candles shining bright and strong and bold
And I knew then that it held your love in its brilliant shades of gold.

For although we may not be together in the way we used to be,
We are still connected by a cord no eye can see.
So whenever you need to find me, we're never far apart
If you look beyond the Rainbow and listen with your heart.

RIP Willow

she'll be safe and sound on the Bridge by now with our other babes, I've asked Max to look out for her, they can be black beauties together  :Luv2:

I am going to sort through the pictures to find some good ones. She was difficult to photograph and her eyes were usually runny - although that was just Willow. It's hard to look at them but they are the Willow we remember, not the poor wretch that was in the vets today  :(

The vet phoned at 9am and said things were not looking good and we should come down. He said we could discuss it but she was beyond help. Luckily OH found the courage to come with me. The vet told us to go through to the cat room and he would join us in a few minutes. As soon as we saw her, we both couldn't wait for the vet to come and relieve her misery  :( - she was barely recognisable and her tongue was sticking out a bit and was almost white. Her eyes were quite dilated and there was no recognition at all. she was still except for a few feint sneezes. The vet laid her on the table and covered her back end and let us fuss her and kiss her while he injected the fliud into her IV tube. She was gone in a few seconds. It was very peaceful. Jeremy left us with her and said we could stay as long as we liked.

We have decided to have a bush planted and have her ashes buried in a memorial garden with a plaque or something similar. We know nothing can bring her back but we want to do something lasting.

We will always love you baby Willow  :'(

Mark, I think we all try and hide from it; I definitely do. But when you know there's no other option you do what you have to because of your love for the feline (or other animal) in question. I always say it's most definitely the hardest part of caring for an animal. I'm hoping that Willow picks up, but if she doesn't that you're strong and tell her she's loved until she lets go.
