Oh Jayne she's gorgeous you and she are both very lucky to have found each other.

You say she's very chilled .... well I hope when I get to 104 I'll be pretty chilled as well  ;)

Thank you for all your comments and she's so chilled out, I've got some more lovely photos which show this clearly! I may post shortly ( if allowed).

Rebecca, I think her ear is permanent, she had a haematoma and from what they said and looking at photocopies of her vet results (they have a vet on site it's like a kind of blue cross set up there) her ear kept filling up with blood -  prob. due to scratching or whatever they said and so eventually had to drain it and it looks like they've kind of sewn her ear down.

Oh Janey....she must think she's died and gone to heaven...bless her.  :Luv:

I'm so pleased you've given her a home and well done to Schui for being so noble.

Lots of love to them both

How amazing... I'm so glad this nice old lady has got you guys now. :Luv:

Would her cauliflower ear theoretically be treatable (if you wanted to go that way) or is it with her for good regardless?

Well, I asked that Rebecca because it's hard to imagine isn't it, but they said yes they're pretty sure.  She was brought in they think because owner(s) was moving into accomodation unsuitable for pets.  She came in with her brother who died and they gave me photocopies of her vet records for the last 4yrs (they've had her from 18 and her age is written on there) so it seems pretty certain.  She is very agile though and healthy but she does look very old and has little scrawny legs and wispy tail.  I worked it out though according to my cat book she is 104! so if that's correct she's doing well isn't she?

Did you notice her nose then? yes it does really stand out doesn't it infact last night she was in the hall way in semi-light and  I said to Steve she looks like a rudholf.  It's got little brown speckles round it too - so cute. :)

Byron is lovely.  Love that dark pink nose.  She's a clever girl and well done to Schui for accepting her so easily.  Hope you have many more years with her.  She deserves a good home and all the happiness and comfort.
Best wishes, Chris, Samson, Buddie and Pepper

Thanks Desley,  I wanted them all, we did originally enquire about Byron but there were other possibilities, so when I got down we spent a couple of hours with the cats.  Steve chose Byron but I couldn't decide so I asked which they wanted us to take and they said Byron would  probably be most suitable and travel better so we adopted her.  You wouldn't believe how quickly she has settled in - as though she's always lived here she's so chilled out and Schui is absolutely fine (bless him). :) She does have a cauliflower ear as a result of a haemotoma problem but we think she's so cute, she looks quite old but seems very healthy and eats all her food and she can jump well too! she's actually alot like our first little cat Penny.
