shorthairs tend to be more wavy than curly, cody can be more wavy/curly depending on the time of year and what coat he has in.  also he can have curly whiskers altho they are quite straight just now.
laperms have a "unique" texture to their coat, shorthairs esp and when i got cody his hair was crispy like abit like a westie dog, its pretty soft now and longhairs apparently are very soft coats but when i stroke "normal" cats you notice a difference.

Codys curls tend to be mostly under his chin/throat and he can have a middle parting along his back where the waves form.  His tail has the most "textured" feel to it.  Of course when he is wet he is very curly until he has licked himself practically straight again

have you ever noticed his waves/curls forever ?? I dont really put rollers in him you know

Hes a shorthaired red & white tabby Laperm hun, thats why he looks abit different facially esp with his mouth (being so smiley)  and eyes + biggish ears  LOL. (dont worry he's fast asleep so might not have heard you  )

If you have a look on the website you'll find out all about them then have a look at the features button along at the end, click on cat of the year and you might just see a familiar face LOL.

i just thought, when ever i see pics of litters from group members there is nearly always torties of some type..i know torties arent rare lol but they seem to have alot of them.  MInd you reds are also fairly common YIPEEEEEEE

just had a read throgh of that link and i think you might find it interesting, there was stuff on their i had forgotten.

It's only a 1 page mini breed profile in the cat mag (must have been thinking of something else re the lots of pics - I'm sure I've read a fuller article somewhere recently) and it has a pic of a mum and babies - one of the babies is a cute tortie.

I see that Somalis are used at outcrosses - god help the La Perm that gets a bit of Mosi in him

susanne if you are more into that type of stuff than me ( i am interested but cant retain that information LOL)
this might be of interest to you (just for interests sake)

it give you all the "legal" allowed outcrosses so you might see where certain colourpoints etc might stem from.  the outcrossing was/is because the laperm had a small genepool but obviously they are all working towards getting just laperm on the pedigrees going back as many gens are possible albeit healthily iykwim.

Yeh - when you click on the pic to make it bigger you can see a hint of colour on his head - something faint.  I know in siamese it takes time for the coloured points to develop so maybe the colour just hasn't developed yet.

pass susanne LOL i looked at it more closely on full size and its like cream or something i guess, very faint.  To be honest as you know altho i have a ped im not really all that well jenned up on the showing stuff so alot of stuff like various colourpoints etc i dont know.

does it say who the cats are in the cats mag ?? they are most likely in my laperm group.

What colour points does the first one have?  Looks pure white to me but maybe that's just the small pic.

Very cute.

There's a breed profile of La Perms in one of the cat mags this month - lots of cute pics.
