OMG Catz that Icarus shawl is awesome .... I'd love something like that ...... I wonder if there'll be anything like it in the auction 

I can't knit at all.  I was taught how to do it but I never got the hang of it ..... never got the hang to keeping the right tension so it would get tighter and tighter as I went along then I would end up with more stitches than I started off with .... complete nightmare! LOL

Laughin aside, I have admiration for those who can do things like this cos I just dont have the patience and not enough fingers to lose while trying at things with small sharp needles.

It would be interesting as to how you knit. I used to knit the english (throwing) way but now I knit continental (picking) way. I've also switched to using circulars exclusively now as they're so much easier to use while knitting continental. Its so much faster too  . I've got 2 sets of knit picks interchangeable options, the nickle and the harmony sets. They have a new set of acrylic options out and I'm sweet talking OH in getting me them for my christmas

Can you use  dk wool for tapestry on that material thats a mesh?

Not sure but I would think so, if it's not too thick.

the cream shawl took 12 days to do. I just couldn't put it down  the black took a bit longer as its difficult to see the stitches in certain lights. I'm still working on the Icarus.

I did a couple of smaller ones for my nieces last year for christmas.

At the moment I'm working on this shawl. Its called Icarus

Knitting mice sounds very fiddly and complicated. Any piccies? Might have a go at that at some point.

I hate knitting or sewing or anything else like that LOL

Only  11" inches to go...  Im only knitting it in normal garter stitch as when I try patterns I just end up with something that resembles a dishcloth.
Embroidery..what kinda tings do you do?? I did some butterflies on appillowcase when I was ickle but I was terrible at it and the back was covered in knots and lumps.



I bet you cant beat this Mark. I bought a £12 tapestry thingy whatsit for holding it for £1 in the dogs trust HB

Hey!

I've just started knitting and can't do much (apart from catnip mice!) and will be making blankets for our cats! Knitting rocks and it's SO relaxing! In terms of stuffing the mice I use wadding doused in catnip spray but don't have any ideas of fillings hun (sorry!)

If anyone would like help with any basic knitting or is a knitter just think of all the cat blankets we could knit.
Im 4" into my 16 x 16 square for the front of one in DK and I just wondered who else might like to knit some.
Have also been thinking about alternative stuffing for cushions as that polyrester filling is so expensive.
Have just got into knitting and onto my second cardi for ickle one.
All you need is wool, needles,mug of tea or coffee and biccies.

Video jug is great for getting you started as well!

Have my Flumpets ashes back and my snowcat to put his collar on.x
