Glad to hear it was an okay night, good outcome for the tests and sounding like she wont have to have her implants removed...Hope so!  :Luv2:

If it's just staph, she shouldn't have to  :crossed:

 :thanks:

Lexy was a bit doped up tonight, catheter is now removed. She's so funny. Was napping half in and half out of her litter tray (clean of course). We had a cuddle but only for a short while. They had an emergency surgery so had to leave.

Infection came back negative but she has a staff infecton on her skin, so they're treating that.

All in all an ok night.

I do that for Mog, Ruth. She tries to scratch her ear but I don't think she can reach any more, so she does the leg motion and I scratch. Hope Lexy is continuing to improve and a hug to you.

They said that the ABs are definitely working, the leg is good. It was so funny though. Now that they moved the catheter to her back leg (the good one) and it's bandaged up she can't use it as much. She sat back to scratch her ear and the little leg went "thump, thump, thump, thump" and couldn't reach her ear. So while she was thumping I scratched it for her. The leg kept thumping  :evillaugh: Had me in fits of giggles, and then the nurse turned up and she joined me in laughter.

Poor staffie in the next pen who had exactly same surgery as Lexy today was disturbed  :-[ and just gave a growl  as if to say "shuddup!"

Oh I got cuddles and then some. Lexy was far more chilled today. Vets were very impressed with how relaxed she got when I was there. She was all lovey with me and even allowed me to hold her while a new bandage was put on her leg so that she didn't nibble on the staples.

Good as gold my girl. Lots of purrs, and head butts. Spent a good 45 mins with her with no hassles.

Left me with a smile.  :Luv:

Not sure Lexy will allow me to have her exercise. She's a stubborn little moo  :evillaugh:

Visited tonight. They've moved her to a larger pen and gave her the igloo. She stepped in and won't come out

Got a little purr and a cuddle but had to let her be after, she's a lot little annoyed  ;)

sounds good news!

Swampy has to do physio exercises. He thinks they are for the birds! But you can get a purr if they think it's fun. Good luck with everything.

Spoke to the vets again.

Lexy is just coming out of a light sedation while they cleaned her wound. It's nice a clean. Still some oozing but not as bad as before. The ABs are working. The last swab culture should be back tomorrow at which point they can tell which type of infection. By Monday when she sees the specialist Lexy should have some kind of prognosis and treatment plan.

Apparently physio is not to be snuffed at. I'm just trying to picture Lexy doing it.

Up, down, and around... one more Lexy... " :censored: off mudder  >:(, I'll up down yoo ter da endsava erf"

:evillaugh: oh yes fun and games. Can you tell I'm punchy?

Well all I can say is that you've got one hell of a star there Ruth.  After all Lexy's been through, to be eating, toileting and fighting back is truly wonderful  :agree:

Very much hope the infection is of the tissue variety and clears up very quickly  :care:  Meanwhile, hope you can continue holding it together.  My heart goes out to you Ruth
