I am so pleased she is home and think this will be a very tough few days for both of you but do not despair she will get used to the collar and the cage and its not long and for her own good

I expect part of it is, is that she is so pleased to be home and thought it was going to be back to normal and she has found its not and doesnt like to not be in charge of you   ;D ;D

I think the hardship is seeing her struggle to walk, knowing that her knee is not fixed properly yet. She can put her weight down on it but nearly falls over. That in itself is the toughest.

I took her collar off and we just snoozed for a bit with her on my chest. She's really not happy about the pen. If she at least had some decent movement in her leg I'd be less upset but it is very upsetting seeing her like this. At the vets she wasn't as lively so I expect their view of how she walks is different.

Not sure how I'll cope until Monday. But that being said I am glad she's home with me.

We're home now  :Luv:

Madam is going a bit nuts with her buster collar and the pen. She's not happy. I've let her be so she can settle but sounds like she's tearing up the pen  :tired:

Me think the Xanax is wearing off.

I have started with her exercises, and she's not stable. That's to be expected. Her cruciate is not as stable as it looks like her platella is going the same way. Vet told me to expect it but she must build up some muscle.

We're going in for a check up on Monday to get the staples off and the buster collar can come off then.

I have to admit to having a hard time listening to her. She had a bigger pen in the vets and she was quieter there. Lexy certainly knows she's home right now.

We'll have one more cuddle before bed time and then we start again early tomorrow morning.

I just hope the collar doesn't stop her going to the loo as normal since she keeps knocking into the pen.  :tired:

For ease right now Lexy is remaining one more night so she can see the specialist again tomorrow morning. I went to visit her and she was wonderful. Healing nicely and she was very cuddly (that's the xanax  :naughty: ) but all in all she's ok.

The leg is still not as stable as they'd like it, but that's down to her muscles being too weak. Once she builds it up again they can decide on the type of surgery.

Family emergency is serious, but just not up to talking too much about it.. had a day of it.

Lexy could come home tonight, but I've had a bit of a family emergency so have had to leave her there another night.

But she's ok. She will need surgery but for now we won't be doing it. The wound is ok now, and she will need to be monitored to not mess with it. Some "fishio" therapy and then we assess what her muscle structure is doing and then make a call on the surgery.

So hopefully I'll be in a position tomorrow to bring her home, but all depends on situation at home.
