Ah, OK. Well, I'd love to help the pure white female cat, but she's nowhere near me. I've also got a specific age that I think would intergrate well with mine and unfortunately that detail isn't given. And not being a Preloved member, I can't ask!

I do understand what you're saying though. I'll refrain in future!

I heard a similar story in London. Gill Stampe who is a well respected cat carer in Islington knows a woman whos cat went missing. I don't remember all the story but she had leaflets up saying to call her if there was any sighting. She got a call saying they had the cat in a garage and if they didn't hand over the money (can't remember the amount) they would kill it. I think she threatened them with the police and luckily the woman got her cat back. I remember her saying this was a grown-up woman with kids that took the cat.

I believe I am not interested to know whether Vivisection produces results that are profitable to the human race or doesn't. To know that the results are profitable to the race would not remove my hostility to it.  Mark Twain

When my Willow went missing while i was on holiday my stepdaughter put up posters and had loads of calls from people messing about !
One person said they had Willow and would meet her at the phone box but wanted £50 !!!
My stepdaughter did go to the phonebox but nobody turned up of course !!!

Angie, that's terrible.

And Gill, I apologise for what you consider to be inappropriate posts. I do see what you're saying, it just amazes me so much that sometimes people think the way they do. It shouldn't really.

Please feel free to remove the thread, or if you can't get an admin member to.

I don't think its the preloved site to blame.
Its just another option that people have to try and be able to home their animals.
If the rescues weren't so full all of the time and in an ideal world they would be able to bring their pets to us to rehome.

Some of the ads are genuine and well thought out.

At the end of the day its the people who are  :censored:

A lady phoned me up in tears yesterday, she has lost a cat and put out leaflets etc... Yesterday she received a phone call from someone who claimed to have run over and disposed of the body in a wheelie bin. It wasn't until futher down he conversaton that things got strange. When she asked he caller for the colour of the cat he said "Red. Covered in blood". When she asked where exactly she was told "you can't miss it the road is covered in blood" and he went on to say the cat was screaming when he tossed it into the wheelie bin.
I needed to reassure her her that it was a prank call.

I dispair. People beggar belief. What an evil species we are.

Please stay off these sites cos we all know they are weird and also heartbreaking,

Unless you are going to do something positive  about theses animals, I do think it is appropriate to keep posting this information here, sorry.

And just when I thought the ads coudln't get any stranger!

The mind boggles, then again my daughter had always wanted a dog and I always said no. After she married and moved out within a very short time we adopted Badger as the house was too quiet.
