In ancient times cats were worshiped as gods; they have not forgotten this.

Alternately, if you know a handyman, they can knock up a timber frame and install some open mesh (of the more rigid variety) that can be placed on the inside of the window and locked into place with some swivels.

cat proofing bedroom window

Bubz is making a nuisance of herself by getting out of any open window at night - starting at about 9.30 - and I desperately need to cat proof my bedroom window so I can have air and she cant get out! Seeing as I cant get up to let Bubz back in (despite the fact the cat flap would let her in!) I need something to prevent madam from getting out, but us humans still be able to open/shut the window. Any ideas?

I have double glazed wintows set into wood frames, and the openable bits are along the top of the window with the hinges at the side, opening the window from the bottom. Unfortunately there is no catch settings to secure the window in one place, the wind will blow the window open and sometimes shut.
