A very big thanks to you all.

My vet has come up trumps. A 5 litre container of unfragranced for £24.50 plus VAT. A blinding result  ;D

Lynn's thought is a good one. Most, if not all vets, use Trigene along with a majority of boarding catteries and a lot of rescues. If you are good terms with your vet and a good customer, tap into his purchasing power.

Now where are those trays??  :thanks:

Hi Pete  :)  I bought my Trigene off Ebay, it was a 5 litre and cost £44.95 plus £8.50 postage.  The seller was cosycatsshop.  I've just found a link for you........postage has gone up 50p though    :sneaky: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TRIGENE-DISINFECTANT-CONCENTRATE-5-LITRE_W0QQitemZ320039888957QQihZ011QQcategoryZ101433QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

was the green stuff we used to use gillian, why do you use it alot ??  I use to have to make sure i either removed wedding ring or rinsed extra well coz i'd break out underneath it with trygene,

I use it for scrubbing down my grooming table after each customer, and for soaking and washing my grooming overalls (by hand!), so thats when I get my hands right in it! I also tend to make up the trigger sprays and use as a general disinfectant on the worktops at home too. I do my grooming brushes and combs in Medizyme and then MedDis, but I don't really get my hands in those. I do my hands in Trigel hand disinefectant before and after each customer and put TeguSept skin protection lotion on after that - overkill or what?!!  :evillaugh:

Ah, I see - funny you should say that - I get itchy hands, but I hadnt connected it to the Trigene

I can't stand the smell of the unfragranced Trigene - it may be 'unfragranced' but the formalin makes your eyes water! - but I quite like the green one - don't know what fragrance thats sposed to be, but its quite nice! I like the smell of hibiscrub too.

made my hands itch gillian, i prefer hibiscrub etc but then i know many who cant use that..my hands were practically always immersed in the stuff LOL
also i prefer smell of hibiscrub but i guess wont make a difference with the unfrageranced stuff.

Thanks folks.

Funny you should say that Lynn. I was at the vets earlier today and asked. The practice manager was busy but will get back to me.

I do have a good relationship with the vets and they take time out to explain things in more detail as they know I am interested in doing the very best for my cats. I am pretty certain that I am their best (non rescue) client. One of the partners even made me a cup of tea the other week whilst I was waiting for the result of some bloods. You should have seen the look on the faces of his staff who had never seen the like.

He told me that I was doing an excellent job looking after our cats. Flannel, perhaps? However, I always strive to do better.

mmm well depends lottie but for specialist items such as trigene (specialist meaning its not likely to be found on pet shop or supermarket shelves etc) then they might sell it to you for cost + vat of course and quite possibly a smaller mark up fee...and taking the no  p&p into consideration it might be viable.  I just thought in petes case where he is so well known with his vets that they might make a special deal with him on this product.

personally i hate trigene anyways LOL

and perhaps...just maybe you could sweet talk them into selling you cost price ??

How likely are vets to be nice and sell things cost price (or only a tiny bit higher) on odd occasions Lynn?

Hiya Pete, nice to hear from you.

I was just thinking after reading your post...could you perhaps ask your vet ?? I know that you always sound like you have a very good relationship with them and perhaps...just maybe you could sweet talk them into selling you cost price ??  They could order that no probs through their vet wholesaler even if they dont actually use it themselves.

may be worth an ask !

I buy Trigene direct from the manufacturer Medichem, http://www.medichem.co.uk/  but I have bought it from Purrsonal Touch, can't remember whether they were more expensive or not http://purrsonaltouch.co.uk/

Canine Kennels are safe to order from, deliver quickly http://www.caninekennels.com/~sa_webapp/run.asp?page=4147

You can buy direct from the manufacturer, i think you have to buy 4 bottles minimum.

You could also try asking your vet as they can sell it, p+p makes things so much more pricey.

Hi guys,

Long time no speak! I've been a fixture at the vets recently

:help:.Can somebody kindly let me know the best place to get Trigene Advanced unfragranced cleaner from a reliable source?

I'm looking for a price for 5 litres. I've found £66.55 (ex P/P) on Best Pet pharmacy. Vet UK don't appear to sell it.

Where do the cattery owners get their supplies?
