As others have posted, please don't give up, I have known cats returned to their owner over a year after going missing because there owners have continued to advertise, advertise, advertise. This is also a timely reminder to other to have there little ones neutered at an early age so although very worrying you little one is missing it may remind others why cats need neutering at an earlier age.

Perhaps you could print and advise the owner of Gizmo (obviously not yours as in an earlier post you say all your other 3 are neutered) the  information found on the 'why neuter page' of my site, address below.

Take care.

Hi Michelle,

How is Issy doing?

I haven't given up on the little guy.  It may be over 6 weeks now since he's been missing, but I refuse to give up on him!  I'll be placing an ad in the Bromley Newshopper this week, which hopefully will yield results!

Yes, Gizmo gave birth to five gorgeous black kittens on 2 April.  They are all absolutely gorgeous, and she is being a very dedicated, caring and protective mum to them all, and she seems much more relaxed second time around!  Some have little white patches on their chests & tummy's and are little bundles of fluff!  They haven't been moved (yet) by mum, and its getting a little crowded under the bed now!  All the eyes are open, so no doubt they will start becoming more adventurous soon.  She doesn't mind me picking them up and giving them a little cuddle.

Shirley.

Hi everyone,

Just to let you know that there is STILL no sign of Mischief.  I keep imagining him meowing and chatting to me, like he used to do - I'm not giving up on him!

No, no news.  I've had no calls reporting sightings, been to the park many, many times calling for him and although we had no luck finding him, another kitty came out to say hello!

Am going to put new leaflets around this evening.  It's been 3 weeks now.

Good morning,

Michelle, you are such a gem.  I can't believe just how nice a (near) perfect stranger can be!  Thanks so much for looking for him!  :thanks:  :thanks:

The girls say he did have his collar on still which is black, with green reflective eyes on it, and has his magnet for the cat flap on it too.  I have put up some posters (the Post Office and the Newsagent) and put leaflets through peoples door up until the house just before the park starts (if that makes sense), but hadn't got around the corner yet.  I hadn't actually thought that the houses in Main Road would back onto the park!!

My hubby is home today and will go to the park & call for him again.  The girls saw him by the bridge, on the Sevenoaks Way side in the bushes.

Fingers crossed we get him and he can rejoin the family.  My other cats all seem to have gone off their food, I think they miss him.   :(

I had to go to the tesco garage tonight so i drove your way.
Stopped by the park and called him (the open bit before homebase) ....and then drove in the entrance on the main road and called him (sevenoaks way next to the fishing tackle shop)

Will do it again tomorrow and might leaflet the houses on the main road (Sevenoaks way)  as their gardens will back onto the park.

Other thing I was going to say was, If anyone rings you in the day when you are at work ring me and i will go and meet them

Keep your chin up hunny, this is all looking very positive xxx

This is brilliant !!!!!!

Sadly most of the posters I have put up have been taken down  :censored:
I will go to the local shops tomorrow and put them there, although he seems to be in the opposite direction.

what I will do is go down by Broomwood park tomorrow and start putting them up all around there (if you havent already done it....let me know)
I know you are at work tomorrow so i'll also take a walk round that area

Hi everyone,

Just to let you know we've had another sighting of Mischief, at Broomwood Park and very near to where he was seen previously.  The young lass who called me said he came up to her and was purring away.  Poor thing is missing his attention he gets at home!  She'd seen him an hour before and called me when she got home.

Of course we went straight to the park and walked around for over an hour.  My husband and I climbed through the woods and I have lovely stinging nettle rashes all over my feet due to inappropriate shoes!  Unfortnately he didn't come out to us, despite as calling and calling for him.  I can only think he's hiding out somewhere.  The young lass who called (and also came back to the park to help us look - I am constantly amazed at just how nice complete strangers can be!) said she is in the park all the time and will keep an eye out for him.  I asked her to catch him, if she could, and take him home and I'll happily (more than happily!!) collect him from there.

So no success so far, but at least I know he is around and clearly enjoying himself!!

Shirley.

Hi Michelle!

I have spoken to Pietra already, but thanks for her number!  I also spoke to Hilary, her colleague, last night.  Whereabouts are you in Main Road?  I'm opposite Yogi Stores.  Have you seen my posters then?!

It really annoys me that they take posters down at the train station.  Its such a logical place to put up posters, it does no harm to anyone, so why take them down??!!  Gggrrrr!

Apart from keeping your eyes open and spreading the word (and checking your shed, hee hee) I'm not sure there is much else you can do to help - but it is very sweet of you to offer.  I have contacted local vets, put up signs in shops, put leaflets in letterboxes through all the houses on Main Road, notified the RSPCA, advertised on boards like this - any other suggestions?  Where was your friend's cat found?

To others - thanks for the crossed fingers!  Mine are getting painful after being crossed for so long...   :)

Shirley.

Morning all,

After putting more leaflets through people's letterboxes last night - much further away from home than I thought Mischief would roam - I got a call from a lady who says she has seen Mischief playing with her cat Pickles.  He was there about 3 / 4 days ago.

So at least we've had a sighting, and also now I know how far he roams, I'll leaflet that area as well.

Shirley.

Just wanted to add .... it's worth keep pestering your local vets.  Don't just assume that as you have left details with them that they will actually check their lost register!  I know some vets are very good but some aren't so thorough.

Good luck and fingers crossed he is just off "chasing the ladies2 and will be back home soon.

No, unfortunately not!  We were just about to have him neutered (this weekend just gone) and the chip done at the same time... the minute he walks in the door he will be both neutered AND chipped!!  All 3 of our other cats are.

So sorry you have to go through this, have you seen this thread on different tips?

http://www.purrsinourhearts.co.uk/index.php/topic,305.0.html

We got our furbaby Poppy home after being AWOL for 8 long days and they only way that we found where she was was by leaflets I had posted around not once, not twice but for a third time all to the same area in 1 week and only the third time was a leaflet seen by the lady that phoned and lead us to the rescue of our furbaby.

Don't worry about bugging people with your posters and leaflets.

The lady said she never ever went to the shop I gave a leaflet to for the third time but that fateful morning she did for the first time and for that last week had been aware of Poppy in her office and trying to catch her and someone in her office was all set to take Poppy home as her own when and if they caught her until she saw my leaflet and then out two and two together, made three and phoned me.

Please do not underestimate leafleting as it lead us to our baby.  Just keep churning them out.

Hi,

Mischief is a 7 month old male, tabby & white cat with a black collar (with green reflective eyes on it) on.  He has been missing since Tuesday 17 March from Main Road, St Mary Cray.

He purrs in quite a distinctive way, loves his food and has a white splodge on his nose.  We are really missing him and want him to come home!

If you've seen him, please call me on 07834361141.

Thanks!

Shirley.
