DO NOT BREED OR BUY WHILE SHELTER ANIMALS DIE

I believe I am not interested to know whether Vivisection produces results that are profitable to the human race or doesn't. To know that the results are profitable to the race would not remove my hostility to it.  Mark Twain

A funny story
« Reply #1 on: February 25, 2007, 09:28:34 AM »
Morning folks,

I though I'd share a story wiith you.

Recently I bought another large cat carrier in my lunch break and also decided, as it was a Friday, to do a little food shopping for the coming weekend. I went a little overboard on the shopping and bought a frozen chicken. I don't have transport but only live about 5 minutes walk from work and the shops but with the cat carrier as well as three bags of shopping I thought I'd simplify things by putting the chicken inside the new cat carrier. As I was walking up the road about a hundred yards fom my place I bumped into the girl in the flat below. She looked at the carrier in my hand and the conversation went something like this :

Neighbour : "Hi, have you been to the vet?"
Me : "No, just work and shopping"
Neighbour : Oh, do you normally take the cat with you ?"
Me : "I like to give one of them a change of scenery, no, seriously, it's not a cat it's a chicken"
Neighbour (looking puzzled because I live in a second floor flat) "You keep chickens ?!"
Me (trying to keep straight face) "Only one at a time, the cats and I are having it for Sunday lunch"
Neighbour (looking suitably horrorfied) "You're not going to kill it ?!"
Me (turning cat carrier around to reveal frozen chicken poking out of plastic carrier bag) "Sainsbury's have kindly already done that for us" :) :)

A new take on chicken in basket :)

Cheers

Leigh
