It does sound like she cant smell it properly doesnt it. Also with a human if you cant smell sometimes you also cant taste cos there is no sense called smell, it all comes from taste grrrrrrrrrrrr or is it the other way round LOL.n Actually sure it is other way round cos I have sinus prbs.

I know I sent about 10 yrs not able to taste much  and when eventually i could again , I was so shocked cos stuff I had been eating, very highly spiced, I could not eat........nearly blew my head off LOL.

Very pleased you have found away to get her to eat  ;D

That's ok then, I thought you might have put it straight down her throat, which can be dangerous. Maybe she does have probs with smelling the food - you could try either adding hot water or putting her wet in the microwave to make it smellier for her (just make sure you have mixed it up if you use the micro, as it doesn't heat through evenly)

i rubbed it on the roof of her mouth

but today she showed interest andlicked it off the tube  :wow:  i,v never seen her eat anything as well

i have found that if i put somthing downfor her she does not bother with it but if i rub a bit on her mouth she gets a taste for it then eats so maybe her food problem is she cant smell food very well with her flat face

shes eating a little supreme cat pate twice a day and dry persian 30 at night ( not a lot but better than before so the wet food is doing better )  ;)

Hahaha!  Just picturing her hopping around on three legs! :D Pastes are the worst... when I had to give my Monkey some, he pretended to take it - and then promptly spat it out, spraying me and the whole kitchen...  >:(

not a problem we have i'm afraid.  I have to keep the hairball paste in the top cupboard otherwise Zephyr tears the cardboard box open and chews the tube in order to get at the paste!   He loves it sooooo much.

Same here!  Both of mine love katalax.  Jaffa doesn't need it but I have to give him some when I get the tube out for Mosi.  They both come running and I sit there with 2 tubes so that they can have one each.  They lick it from the tube so I just squeeze a bit more out of Mosi's than Jaffa's.  They go mad for it.

Mine have a hairball paste that's got a prebiotic in it and like the Logic tooth gel it has to be kept in their grooming box or else Bilbo will chew the tube.

I tried defurm treats and katalax and could get anyone to eat any of it grrrrrrrrrrr.

I also tried putting it on their legs and they just left it and rubbed it off on things

Mine all go outside and eat grass so I guess I just have to put up with them upchucking all over place  :-[

You can buuy some grass for cats to grow from seeds but I found my cats like the real thing! Why dont you dig up a bit and put it in a pot in the house and see if Mango will eat it when it starts to grow, She will then be sick and bring up any furballs she has.  ;D

Hmm, rubbing it in their fur is normally OK, they cant normally bear to leave something sticky in their fur. I have only had two cats that liked Katalax, and I was lucky that both would just eat it straight from the tube. You can also get the hard hairball treats, but in my experience, the only ones who liked them were the ones who liked the paste. Defurrum treats didn't go down well with the cats that liked Katalax thougj
