The new vet changed the amount of his meds from 0.9 to 0.7 and am wondering if that has caused this and that 0.7 is not enough to keep him going from one jab to another......I guess I need to ring and try to speak with him but suspect he wont be there if he was in duty all weekend.

Even if he isn't there, one of the other vets should be able to discuss the dosage with you   If it's the same drug as he's had before, I'd be tempted to just increase the amount if that's what he's had before, but probably best to discuss it with the vet first.

Keeping everything crossed there are no more seizure.

Thank you all and sadly he has gone backwards.

I was feeling quite chilled once past 24 hrs without a seizure and slept quite well as did Franta, Misa and Ducha who were all on my bed but around 1120 he had another seizure, 34 hrs after the last! This has never happened before and it was just before he was going to have a jab.

The new vet changed the amount of his meds from 0.9 to 0.7 and am wondering if that has caused this and that 0.7 is not enough to keep him going from one jab to another......I guess I need to ring and try to speak with him but suspect he wont be there if he was in duty all weekend.

Franta is quite shakey as I am again, cos thought we had broken the back after the first terrible day and am worried that we may have another terrible day  :(

Its amazing how one can go from feeling a bit better to feeling terrible again.

Late last night Franta was feeling well enough to come down stairs and snooze on the sofa and would not come back upstairs, so left him to do his own thing and eventually he came up and got on the bed and ciuddled by my head................all after I had gone to sleep.

I thought everything was progessing well............sigh

Gill hope you can all get some more rest today and that Franta continues to stay seizure free - we are all curled up on the couch here with our slanket and the heating on

Don't worry about the others they will sense that you and Franta are tired and apprehensive so long as they fed and have clean litter trays they will forgive you

So pleased for you and Franta Gill hopefully you may be able to get a good nights sleep tonight and feel more rested tomorrow.  Love the way he made it awkward for you to give him his jab at least it shows he still has his spirit and mischievous side.

No seizures for over 24 hrs which iis great but he is definately not himself, just lies on the floor in one place and I even have to take his food too him.

He is very hungry and I think exhausted from yesterday. I hope he will be a little brighter tomorrow.

One of probs is that I too am exhausted and the other cats are not getting enough attention and Misa especially gets upset.

Its soooooooooo very cold that neither Misa or Sasa want to go out and I am sitting under a duvet but keep falling asleep.

I hope tomorrow is better for all of us and warmer.

Echoing what everyone else has said Gill, but having a quiet snicker at the fact he could still play you up when it came to jab time.  :evillaugh:  Gotter love the little man for his pugnacious attitude.

well done, Franta

looks as if this latest episode has actually moved you forward in dealing with this, Gill, rather than it being a backward step

My thoughts exactly!  ;D If there is a next time, you may be able to nip it in the bud (but let's :wish: this is the beginning of a happy ending).

 for you Gill, I know what a vicious circle being exhausted and stressed can be.   Take care of your own wellbeing as well as Franta's if you can.

It just becomes one panic stressed out person at this end, tortured with watching the seizures and dreading doing the jabs.

Hi all thank you for your thoughts and looks like they have helped  ;D along with the marbocyl  :innocent:

Franta has had a good night, ate around 0700..........ate loads!............and I was woken up about 1130 with a meow for more food  ;D

So I got some sleep but still feel wiped out and like I could sleep for millions of years!

He has had his jab cos his little tummy clock was just right timing for that and I was so tired around 0300 that didnt even think to put on alarm.

Going on yesterday his next seizure was due between 0300 and 0400 but it never came  ;D ;D

So he is now 15 hours without a seizure which is just so wonderful  ;D ;D

I just hope he keeps on improving and he is calmer and more relaxed than yesterday and that means I am too.

Frantas had his 4th seizure today and they are coming every 6-7 hours . This is as bad as the very first time back in Feb 2009 and they were further apart then but went on for about 4-5 days.

so tired and so worried.

Next one due in about 0300 if he stays on schedule...........not much sleep for me I think.

I just feel so sorry for him and want my Franta back.
