Believe it or not, Mary...no, we don't. They just claim it.

The cats have at least 12 beds dotted around the house, they just like to make sure we know our place.

Rosella, it's only dry food. And I'll be honest - Chi is totally addicted to the cheap stuff we were putting on the wall for him outside and refuses to change allegiance to something better for him; which means there's a bowl of that down too and the others snaffle it. (Junk food is always more fun isn't it...?

) Plus, you have Noni.

They are all stunning. And wonderful, diverse personalities.

You'd think this lot were never fed the way they act with each other over a bit of ham sometimes....

I'll be honest - it's not always as calm as it looks in the pictures! But mostly they seem not too unhappy sharing their space.

I think it helps that I pimped up the outhouse (I cleared it of pretty much everything apart from a chair with a snuggly throw and a shelving unit with a heated pet bed on top near the window.....

) so if Darwin feels like he's not the top lad he goes outside for a bit and guards the garden, which makes him feel manly again.

He's still a bit confused by her and she's received a couple of bops from the older girls but so far, as far as I can tell no real stress....keep 'em crossed. If Chi and she are this bonded I'd have to have a heart of stone to rehome her.

I'll let you off.

I'm still very conflicted about Sprocket. She really isn't doing much to cause any trouble (apart from the usual kitten stuff

) but I think Astryd's a little put out by her being here. She hisses at her every time Sprocket tries to see who she is.

Chi just bops her when she annoys him Darwin nose touches then pootles off and Sage is a little "slinkier" than usual because she's waiting for Sprocket to be a kitten and ambush her.

I'm not sure how fair it is on the others. I'll admit, I already love the little scamp and would love to think the reason she was out was because she was a sneaky so and so that got past a door that should've been shut. But I don't think that's the case.

I know of a couple just up the street from me who are great with their cats (as in, cats are spoiled but still allowed to behave like cats. None of this "look cute and behave" business

) and they currently only have one cat aged a year. Sprocket was estimated around 6 to 8 months by the vet. I wonder if she'd benefit from being with another cat closer to her age......I don't want to keep her purely because I love her. I want to do what's right for her.

They all have Christmas collars....Chi, in true cat tradition at our house lost his about 2 days after me putting it on him. He had a gingerbread man one, Sage has snowmen, Astryd has reindeers and Darwin has Christmas trees.

They usually have reflective collars, so the tags on these are reflective instead.

They're a lovely looking bunch.
