Made it to work but have been in the loo in tears a few times. Have Vesti as my screen saver now on my work PC

I loved it when i called him he would come trotting over with his fluffy tail held high and bent over at the tip saying hello

I loved it when he would burying himself under the duvet in the middle of the bed and we would come in and see him and say "is that a Vesti lump"

I'd love it when I was in bed and he'd get under the duvet and flop down with his body against my skin.

I'd love it when he'd meiow as he was such a big muscular boy that his meiow didn't suit his look and came out a pathetic girlie meiow so we'd call him a big gay boy because of it.

I loved it when he washed Poppy and Elvis's heads.

I loved it when he'd lick me lke there was no tomorrow.

I could go on forever and ever.

I wouldnt try to hold back the tears - I would imagine that is worse for you than crying. There's just no getting away from the upset and shock you will be feeling right now. Hopefully, things will settle down for you soon. You won't stop feeling upset and won't stop having a cry now and then, but you will feel a little calmer eventually.

I've never been pregnant so don't know, can you cause damage by crying excessively? Do you think it would put too much stress on your body? To be honest, if you need to cry it might be more stressful keeping it in.

I feel like I just want to let go and sob my heart out but scared too and holding back because of being pregnant with twins.

Only thing thats helping is thinking that Vesti would have hated the twins so at least he doesn't have that stress to go through when they are born. He was never a little person cat, literally hated children when they were in the house.

I have managed a couple of times today to talk about Vesti to the other cats without bursting into tears but dreading work tomorrow and trying to hold back the tears.

Its' so rotten but the grief will ease, I recently found a picture album of my 2 bridge babes at my dad's and started crying again... smudge was killed 16 years ago and Harry passed on 2 years ago. His love will never leave you and a little piece of your heart will always be his.

I personally take comfort in seeing them out of the corner of your eye, My Smudgie is notorious for this, in fact he's now RW's guardian angel and kept an eye on him when he went missing recently...

I'm sure that Vesti is just coming back to check his mummy is ok and to let you know that he is fine and waiting for you at the Bridge

P.S- the middle name idea is fantastic! go for it!

I am sorry things are still so hard for you, things will get easier in time. Do make sure you keep drinking, as the sore head was probably dehydration, I didn't realise you could cry enough to dehydrate yourself till I lost Ginger. Big hugs for you, and we are all here if you need us

The first christmas after Magpie died, I bought him a christmas present and put it under the tree. It felt important to remember him even if he wasnt physically there.

Was just hoovering and found a big tft of Vesti's long hair I'd cut off as it had had a knot in it - just sat on the floor with it crying and stroking it with one finger -felt like him

It's horrible but you just have to go through that. When I lost Magpie I thought I would never stop crying. I dreaded ringing work the next day to tell them I wouldn't be in because I knew I wouldn't be able to explain without crying.

I have kept Magpie's favourite bed. It was a small, donut shaped bed which he would go and curl up in every night when I gave them bedtime treats and shut them in the living room. It is still covered in his fur and smells of him. It's in the top of the wardrobe and jaffa and mosi are not allowed anywhere near it cos it's Magpie's.

Try to take good care of yourself, I know its going to be hard. I lost one of my kitties when I was pregnant and I just lost hope with everything.

About the middle name suggestion, I think its great way to remember them, my son's middle name is Ted, he's my eldest cat.

It will still be raw.

Give yourself time, cry when you need to and eventually it will happen less and less and the crying will be replaced by smiling at the memories of the time you shared together. You loved Vesti very much and in his own way he will have returned that.

You will cry for a long time but you must think of the happy times and have some laughs in between your tears. I am sure we are all crying reading this and we all know how you feel because most of us have been there. Most of us will still be smelling our bridgebabes too, I know I do.
