She will stay at their house until she has had the kittens and will then be spayed and re-homed with one of the kittens, keeping them together.

Awww that is lovely.
I know Celia Hamond rehome like this and i think it is the best way

Hi Just received this email from the lady who was looking after Bagpuss

Hi Karen,
I just wanted to say thank you for all your help in re-homing Bagpuss.
She was picked up today by a lovely couple who foster pregnant cats on behalf of the second chance charity.
She will stay at their house until she has had the kittens and will then be spayed and re-homed with one of the kittens, keeping them together.
I don't know how I can thank you enough, not only for helping but also for going out of your way and giving me peace of mind.
You are an angel
Many blessings
Bonnie

Thankyou again for all who helped

Hello and welcome to Purrs Karen!

Gosh less than 24 hours since we had our little cat meeting last night, and it looks like you will have your hands full soon!

I think it would be great if someone were nearer, but if they are like us, you know how it is.  :-:

I think she would travel better sooner rather than later, it is not as if we are in high summer, so she should be able to be made comfortable on her journey.  Some cats are notoriously bad travellers, like my Turkish Van, who is not one you take into your vehicle lightly!   Take a kitten pen or another large carrier with a small litter tray in it for her.  Stop to offer her some water and maybe some light food.

Good luck Karen with your project, I have just ordered some wormers for the Group, so we will support you if you decide to take her on. :)

Pregnant cat HOMED
« Reply #1 on: November 17, 2008, 16:14:29 PM »
Hi Im a fosterer with coventry cat group and i am in contact with a lady who needs to find a home for a 4 year old black cat that is about 7 weeks pregnant. The cat was her neighbours house which got reposessed so hence she has been looking after the cat while she is trying to find her a new home. She appartently has phoned all her local resues and they are to overcrowded and wont take her. The cat is in Blackpool and i am willing to take the cat but feel it is a long way for the cat to travel in her condition so I am looking to see if there is anyone nearer to me that has room to take her in or if not may be near and can help out with the tranportation so we can say meet halfway. As the cat is so far gone and it is a 5 hour drive there and back I can only fit that in tomorrow afternoon so if you can help please let me know asap or im off for a long drive tomorrow. If you can help with transportation and therefore doesnt have to be tomorrow as i wont need so long. But would like to do it soon as she doesnt have long left.
I hope i have done this advert right as im all new to this.
Thanks
Karen
