What a great idea.
Its very sad when people won't take an animal on with something wrong with it. Ok I can see because of costs but what about the ones where the rescue pays for all there vet treatment why don't people want them? :(

What about the diabetes hospital I contacted a while back? - the woman there said they would be happy to put a card up. I think a diabetic person might like the idea of taking on a diabetic cat?

I think it's in Maidstone or Ashford?

DO NOT BREED OR BUY WHILE SHELTER ANIMALS DIE

I believe I am not interested to know whether Vivisection produces results that are profitable to the human race or doesn't. To know that the results are profitable to the race would not remove my hostility to it.  Mark Twain

Poor baby.  :(
Have you tried any of these rescues to see if they could take her on?

I am tyring to help sperad the word about Ruby who was signed over to one of the local vets care when the owners could no longer afford to take care of her after recently  discovering she was diabetic.. The vets took her in and she has been there for at least 6wks. This is not a vets we usually deal with other then one of our volunteers works there and told me about Ruby...

At the moment fosterers who can deal with a diabetic cat are full and we are dealing with nandrearing kittens, so we havent managed to do much for her. She has been at the vets for a long time now.

If a home iis not found for her (or something arranged) there has been talk of her being PTS as she hasnt really got a good life at the moment stuck in a vet pen at a vets.Ruby is a shorthaired, female tabby cat whos is approximately 10 years old.
We are unsure of how she is with children or other pets so would probably be best to be homed on her own.

Ruby is a diabetic (currently injection once a day) so she will require daily injections and regular veterinary assessments/check ups, so she will need to be rehomed with some one that is willing to inject her and has the time and commitment to manage her food intake.

She is very over weight so she needs to burn off a few pounds.

Ruby is  a very loving cat she just needs time to get to know you, she would love a home with access to a garden.

I have no idea about current vac status, but she is spayed.

Pls get in touch if anyone wants to know more, currently in the care of a vets not far from Whitstable, in Kent.
