 i would not mind volunteering if they were in cheshire.  I would not mind helping in my area for something like that.

They are a great bunch of folks that do a wonderful job for all animals ... they have a website if anyone is interested http://www.aaru.org.uk/
In ancient times cats were worshiped as gods; they have not forgotten this.

Animal Ambulance Rescue Unit.

They have volunteers that man phones from home and take calls from the public ranging from injured birds to poorly cats and dogs. They have been known to take in fox cubs etc.

The call handlers then organise a driver to go and collect and either go to the vets or to a specialist who can handle them in the case of wildlife.

Applied for driver position initially but after talking to Chris I might be suited to phone op and vet driver rather than anything else as I am based in Sutton in Ashfield Nottinghamshire rather than Nottingham.  Will read through everything in the next few days.

Hooray had my first contact today with AARU, am being sent information and handbook to see what is what with me helping - YAY
