Its not good news really - vet's just phoned to say the x-ray shows lots of fluid in his chest, she can't see his heart properly because of it, but it could likely indicate heart failure/tumour. He started to get distressed this morning because they took his blood pressure while I was holding him, which didnt help - wish I'd never suggested taking BP now - he's normally very placid and taking BP is hardly invasive! BP was low. Anyway he had a bit of a rest from that, but was breathing even faster and heavier afterwards - I came home and they did the x-ray.
Vet's draining the fluid now, which isnt without risk because he's having to be aneathetised and vet may do scan while he's under to see whats going on.
My poor boy was scared and I hated leaving him - I'm scared too now.

I've got to phone later - I can't remember what time she said now - I'm not concentrating very well.
