Best food for "portly" cats

Senior food is lower in calories than adult, and i have had success in getting cats to lose weight while on it - Felix do Senior food in normal size tins which is more economical when you are feedng multiple cats, although I have only seen this in a couple of supermarkets so far - I do believe Tesco was one of them. JWB is a good food, and also comes in a Senior/Light version. Exercise is important, and you could do things like hiding dry or using a treat ball to get them to get tehm doing more.

MIne have Purina One fish and Technical which are chicken lol.......so havent tried anything else since the days og whiskers and go cat lol

JWB was what Lexy used to love to eat before she got her cystitis. She still has dry but the Urinary food and wet as well.

Definitely reduce the amount of dry and supplement slowly with wet until they get used to less food and pace themselves.

Gill, I stopped giving them biscuits months ago when I joined a diabetic cat forum and was advised to stop giving Toby(LJ) dried food. (Anyone who feeds their cats together will know how hard it is to feed just one of them anything!)

They are currently on felix senior because (again) Toby needed less phospherus in his diet and didn't particularly like renal food. My youngest (not including the lodger) is seven, so only a year off what is classed by food companies as senior. I intend to start giving them Tescos Premium and normal Felix again once all the senior food is gone.

They do like the James Wellbeloved biscuits are they not good?

Slowly reduce the dry food, I believe Desley says  cos that puts on the weight more than wet. Get them to be more active and play more 

I was looking at the bag of Purina One last night and saw the quantity they should have a day and they would think I was punishing them  Mine are big but seem to regulate their food quite well, although Misa cant walk past a dish without having a nibble at the last weigh in Misa had lost a bit of weight and the others were the same as the year before.

I've noticed my mob are looking a bit on the chunky side and was hoping people could tell me the best foods (wet and dry) that would help control this.

Not too expensive, because I have three (and the lodger!) to buy for. Thanks.
