Juat to say young Brodie sailed through his bits removal and is currently on my knee as i type this andis a little Mummy's boy!

He had comapny at the vet in the form of another ginger ninja our Bailey camr home with a large hole in his underside on Sunday night so now has a dozen stitches and is grounded for 10 days

Both gingers were very good in the vet

Little Gem is still eating us out of house and home and not pacing yet so all is well and she adores Robin must be a tortie thing!

Rescued in Aberdeen -Brodie and Gem
« Reply #26 on: May 24, 2008, 18:39:04 PM »
Well the pair have been here for 48 hours now and have settled in well with our mob.

Gem is spending her nights in the mother and kitten pen just in case she goes in to labour during the night and Brodie is sleeping on top of the pen, through the day they are out with the rest of our house cats and playing with them although Gem has a nice bed in the dowstairs bathroom she likes to sleep on behind the door which now has a wedge in should visitors push the door to hard!

Both are fantasticly friendly hooligans and love stuffed mice, balls with bells - note to self remove at night as its a hell of a noise on wooden and tiled floors and some of the Clan cats looked tired this morning!

Brodie is off for the chop on Monday and Gem should just have a week to go all things crossed for that

Christine I am at the nurse every day for wound dresing and packing and have loads of nice pain killers and antibiotics so am ok and today whilst stff not to bad and Courtesy car has been delivered so am not grounded!

Brodie and Gem are little stars they have fitted in with my housecats so well already and the Mummy kitten pen is being set up tonight so we can contain Gem at night just in case she decides to have her babies at least the others won't bother her but through the day will be out with the housecats under close watch!

I will post piccies later as both are just to busy having so much space to explore and other kitties to greet! :Luv:

Liz, I have just seen this.     Are you really alright?  Beware of delayed shock from an accident like that and do not delay in seeking treatment if in doubt.

Apart from my aching wound it took alot of impact damage just cause of where it is and the stiffness creeping in I am ok but we will see what tomorrow brings

The duo are currently leading my mob a lot of tail sniffing and head butting going on

My vet does advise that we are expecting the pitter patter of 4 tiny sets of paws sometime next week, hope the crash doesn't move things forward for poor little Gem.

The cats were checked over by the ambulance crew and the fire brigade and were little stars the whole epsiode so 38 resident cats and 2 dogs are no problem!

The Aberdeen 2 are now in residence after a car crash on the way home - husbands car is now all crumpled and police investigation on going s the man who hit me hit a pedestrian and 4 other cars, all I can say in thank god for our 4 x 4 as my own car would ahve flipped and thats not a nice thought

We have named the babies as Brodie - a long haired ginger boy who is off to the vet on Monday for the removal of his bits and Gem our dilute Cailco pregnant Mum, both are mixing with mine already and no hissing just a lot of head rubbing and sitting on our knees

I will take photo's once I have recovered my steady hand as the air bags imploded and I am deaf in one ear and am recovering slowly

Robin is currently looking after the 38 cats, 2 dogs and doing all the house/feeding/grit boxes and holding down a full time job so lets hope he will be ok with it

Still once they are here they should melt the heart and I will have to do some bending although painful to help me thinks as we will be adding another 5 grit boxes at least!!!!!

Am in agony but nurse advises it does look slightly smaller so must be doing something it just is a pain as I can't sit/bend and lying is the most comfortable unles one of the darlings uses me as a jump point during the night! :)

Would have done it a bit quicker but had back surgery 2 weeks ago and have an open 3 inch wound in my back so driving was and still is painful unless me and my trusty pad go in hubbies 4 x 4!

The lady has had no help from CP in fact they were a bit short her words.

They will have a safe haven here and now just got to figure out where to put them as I have 3 aged ferals coming in to us from Tayside as a rather large supermarket knocked down their shelter as they were considered a hazard to herbs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The 3 ferals arrive on Friday was supposed to be 4 but one died on Saturday from cancer vets says she was about 15ish from pm = she is now burried with her soulmate in another ladies garden and will be getting a nice rose the lady is just greatful we are taking her final 3 at this point I am thankful for a large house and space to be able to cater for this lot!

Still got to tell Robin about the younger 2 but they will be installed by the time he gets home on Thursday night and he is a sucker for gingers!!!!!!!!!! :innocent:

We could hold till a space can be found - we have isolation space and can get them neutered with vouchers if that can be of any help

Can also help rehome them if you like to

Drop me a pm as I am off work for 3 weeks due to 3 inch hole in back but can drive with padding and cushion support!

I've a lady who has re-homed two 8 month old cats two weeks ago, and when she's taken it to the vets, the female is pregnant. She would like to re-home them as they do not get on with her other animals (whether this is true or not I can't say!)

She has contacted the CP who are full and also a resuue up there who i've heard very mixed reviews about and would hate to see these cats end up in. She says that she is quite willing to keep the cat until she's given birth and help wean them, but would really rather get them into a rescue who can help.

Anyone know other good rescues up there???

She does seem very genuinely caring about where these cats go and has already rejected many people whop have come forward as she's unsure whether they will just use the female for kittens.

Many thanks!
