He is certainly much better with it than without...we try to do one day on and one day of , but any more nthan a day off and he is limping badly.

Sadly as he came to us as a stray we have no idea how old he is...............but grey hairs are starting to appear where black used to be!

Long term yes it does build up but if he gets that much relief from it you have to think how much quality of life he would have without it.

You could also try a joint supplement, i use Cosequin

I may be wrong but I think it can impact on kidney function.  I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong

I think it says to be used with caution when there is renal insufficiency. The vet still gave it to Clapton after a dental.

I believe I am not interested to know whether Vivisection produces results that are profitable to the human race or doesn't. To know that the results are profitable to the race would not remove my hostility to it.  Mark Twain

My previous cat Dragan had it for his arthritis and it really helped.  Had to give it cautiously though ie not every day

I  believe there are certain side effects, however this has to be balanced out with the good Metacam can do and the quality of life it can offer a cat.

There will be some, but none that I can recall. Metacam is a Non-STeroidal drug, so doesn't have the issues steroids do.
Please spay your cat
