Wheat, gluten and soya are big culprits too but they ignore them! Raw diets work well for ibd

Can he eat dried food? Thats more calorific than wet. Orijen is grain free for IBD help. Fish and beef wont neccesarily make it worse, it depends what his trigger is, did he have tests to find out? My friends trigger is peanuts but she can other eat other nuts.

Simba has  I B D and has to have a high protein diet, thats why I have been buying highlife and natures menu food for them as it has so much more meat than the other cat foods we get here. The vet said beef and fish flavours arn't good for his I B D either,so have been just giving him chicken flavours.x

Not sure about Simba's details, but kitten food is very high in protein, which may not be good for an adult cat because it puts more stress on kidneys. If he's eating well, just give him more good cat food, like Whiskas (which is what my old ladies have eaten all their lives, well, while they've been with me, no advertising intended) or perhaps give lots of cat milk or go to the butcher's and get some cooked meat. When Polly was last ill, I got her through it by giving her sliced turkey....and I'm a veggie! It meant going into that dreadful shop and seeing those fresh cream cakes......

That's a thought, will Simba drink cream. Try a few extra cat treats.

I don't know his medical history though.
Cats were once gods; they have never forgotten this, nor have the people they own.

Hill's a/d is best for convalescing - I suppose kitten food is next best as long as it is only short-term.

I believe I am not interested to know whether Vivisection produces results that are profitable to the human race or doesn't. To know that the results are profitable to the race would not remove my hostility to it.  Mark Twain

Do you think that kitten food will help Simba put some weight on if I start to give it to just him? :thanks:
