Aw, well, that's some almost-good news even if he's not out of the woods yet.  I have my fingers crossed for him  :Luv2:

Bless you all

Bobbin has been moved back to his fosterers so it's a move in the right direction! He must be out of immediate danger, but as we all know with little ones, it'll take a bit of time before we're confident he's fighting fit xxx

Sadly these things happen.  Bertie was one of a litter of five and one of them died unexpectedly at six weeks, just before they went to their new homes.  It was worrying but the others were fine ... keep us posted

Thanks so much xxx

We told Lily's new owners today and it was so dificult and she will need a couple of days to think about what she wants to do which is totally understandable. We've held off re-homing all of the cats and kittens that share that pen (they're all related btw, not just chucked together!!!), until we know what's going on, but fingers crossed the other 3 little ones and the mums are ok and the two older kittens we re-homed a couple of weeks ago are fine and ruling their new house already. I just hope that it's an isolated case and not something deeper xxx

We've just heard that her brother Bobbin is going down hill  :(

If I could just ask you to send some force this way that'd be great. Fingers crossed he'll make it through the night xxx

Thanks you guys x

I just feel so sorry for her new owners. I know they lost their last cat through illness and they were so excited about her and her brother arriving. I also know the fosterer has grandchildren who adore the kittens, but I guess it really is something that i'll have to get a bit more used to, but it's still hard. She was so much loved and will be missed greatly by everyone xxx

Aw, poor lily. I'm sure she knew loads of love with her fosterers before she went to the bridge.

The picture of the little ones is so cute, the ginger one in the middle looks like a mini Amber!

One of our kittens has died...
« Reply #1 on: April 18, 2008, 10:47:51 AM »
Poor little Lily was found by the vets this morning struggling to breathe and has died  :(

She and a litter mate suddenly became dehydrated and have been on medication and she seemed fine yesterday. We thought that it was a case of severe diaroah, but the vet is doing a post mortem to check. Fortuntely the other kitten seems to be doing ok, but you can never tell with little ones can you?

She was only 7 weeks old and was due to go to her new home in two weeks. How we're going to tell the new owners I don't know, we haven't even told the fosterers yet.

It's my first death of a little one (i've only been doing this just over a year), and it just seems so sad. She was so lively and playful and we rescued her when she was only 2 weeks old...

RIP little one, I hope you find a new meowmy on the bridge to look after you  :(
The pic is when they were 4 weeks old and Lily is the tabby on the right hand side - she was always little bless her
