my challenge lies in the fact that I don't own a car, so anywhere we can not access on foot or by train is difficult. We go up to the Great Lines at times, but it seems to pass through some fairly dodgy neighbourhoods which have resulted in some unpleasant encounters. That park we just found suits us nicely I think, Good paths for me, and some interesting shrubbery for Shadow to sniff around in ... Thanks for the tips though, really appreciated. ;D

Hi Black Cat,

It is wonderful that alfie is home .. i know how her mum feels, as do a lot of fellow mogsters ma's and pa's !!

We used to have a similar problem with finding a suitable park to let our westies off for a run ..

In the end we would give them a long walk but only let them off in the early morning .. they were not the most obidient of puppies !!

Its difficult to find a great space for dogs in Chatham , and when you do find a good park it seems to be governed by rules and time restrictions ..

i used to take my hounds up Capstone park for a special run .. they loved it .. perhaps you can try there , its not walking local but it is a great place to walk the doggies !!

Have fun !!

Hi Black cat,

I am just down the road from you near the school and community centre.

Is indeed good to meet a fellow neighbour and kitty friend

Moggyx

Nice area, lucky you! I only recently discovered that great park near the old fort with all that open space for my dog to run! Still exploring the 'hood, and the dog is very pleased indeed, we were looking for somewhere nearby where he can be off-leash without all the aggravation of the more formal park back of the cemetery!

Great news that the missing baby has been found. One less thing to look out for on our walks ...

Kelly

Have you had any luck so far ?

Do put up posters around the area and post leaflets etc, even if you only get a handful of sightings, these are all positives towards finding Alfie..
I have recently experienced the very same heartache your experiencing . My Boris went a.w.o.l for 10 days.. It was horrible such a worrying time..
Purrs gave some great advice and it definately helped..
Keep calling Alfie too , we even hung a pair of dirty socks or   on our fence to encourage boris  home (familiar scent)...
We put up posters everywhere around the area and posted leaflets ..
Boris returned home on Monday evening just gone .. such a relief ..
Do ask neighbours etc to check their sheds and garages, this also helps in making them aware of him and they will be more likely to look out for him.

Keep us updated ..
My thoughts are with you at this frustrating time

I am sorry to say that i didn't see anything other than your average blacks, tabbies and torties today when Shadow and I wandered that way ... Will continue to keep an eye open though. And yes, putting a poster in the centre is a great idea, as well as following all of Sam's other helpful hints which I assume you have already sent the owner ...

Hi Kelly, what a gorgeous looking cat. I have sent my sister the pictures as she lives a short stroll from here and also visits a center at all saints gardens. It may be worth the owner getting the center to put up some posters as it does get busy with people - mainly arriving on foot.
