Yes, one of the reasons too much tuna is bad for cats is that it contains high levels of unsaturated fats which oxidise vit E (of which there's not much to start off with) and can result in yellow fat disease.

I would imagine supplements esp for cats would either have extra vit E in them, or be sufficiently small quantities not to worry about it?

Vets dont do that much about nutrition, they learn from a bias Hills rep 

A supplement like viacutan would probably have vit e in it as a preservative.....

Yup depletion is the reason for the extra addition. But you don't want to overdo the Vit E because it's fat soluble so stays in the body. I've just not heard about it in cats so didn't know whether it applies to them.

MrsR you are right it is such a minefield. Knowing what you can and cannot feed and whats ok in moderation

I think it would depend on what quantity your giving. A few drips from a capsule into a complete meal shouldnt make much difference

Sorry, the oil of evening primose thread reminded me of something. Several threads have mentioned fish oil as a supplement for cats but I've never seen anyone mention giving vitamin E alongside the fish oil. I know with dogs when supplementing fish oil you have to give extra vitamin E do cats not require it?
