I am glad that she will be staying with you if they bring her back Kelly - she obviously likes it at yours, and this could be your sign that she is destined to be your cat!!

That so sad they didn't give her a chance but great news that when she comes back she will be staying in a forever home.

Obviously they misunderstood her and thought she would of been ok with the kid, so they must of let the kid get on the same as before.

Are you gonna keep her, tell us please I wanna be glad this kitty is settled.

They had recently lost their cat - who when I met them sounded just like Poppy in its nature - a stray who didn't like being picked up, hid under things and liked fusses on its own terms - hence why we really thought this was the ideal home for Pops as they would understand her nature.

Thats good to hear Kelly, I hope you do keep her. Did the family she went to have any other cats? Maybe she was also missing the company as your Alfie and her were good friends, it would be good for them to be friends once again.

Well Jackspratt - they took Pops on friday, by Sunday aft they had called to say she was hiding under the bed and only coming out after their son had gone to bed - the lady at the rescue explained that with Poppy being semi-feral this was completely normal and the fact that she was coming out at all already was really positive, but I got an email yesterday off them and I think they've just made up their mind regardless of how Poppy is adapting that she isn't the cat for them. If they do return her I'm going to keep her here with me. We thought about adopting her a while ago but I never warmed to her - so we agreed to give her a month to be rehomed - which she was, but after putting her through this she is not going anywhere else - she deserves somewhere where she is settled and happy - and if that isn't with this family then  know it is with my family.

Sue, it isn't us that is stopping them give her a proper chance, it is them. To me, they are over-reacting, and I just hope we are wrong and that they will relax about the situation, but I am not the one who has spoken to/met them.

Poppy is still looking for that special home. She now curls up anywhere around the house and plays with the resident moggy. She loves attention and will get up onto my OH's lap. She really is turning into the model domestic kitty! She just now deserves a home of her own, where she can come and go as she pleases and where she doesn't get scared off at tea time

Come on guys - Poppy's forever slave must be out there somewhere!

The image below is Poppy - the pale tortie. Poppy is a semi feral cat who will need outdoor access (ie a cat flap) and is 18months old. However, Poppy has been with us for 4 weeks now and she has only been let out once in this time so she could live quite happily inside, but outdoor access would be preferred. With time and patience you can stroke her, she will curl up on the bed and cat bed, and she can live with other non - dominant cats. She really dislikes being picked up so it may take more time before she will curl up on your lap, but don't be disheartened if this does not happen.

She really is a wonderful cat who deserves a home that is patient and loving. She has a good appetite and will squeak when she is hungry! She can use a litter tray and is clean.
Poppy has been neutered, flead and wormed (the latter within the last week)

Please pm me or call 01706 227801 (weekdays eve only, weekends anytime) and if there is no answer please leave a message and we will get back to you.

This is on behalf of CAT77 Shaw Branch - there is a £35 donation.
