It could be your office clothes and you didnt look or smell like you  ;D

Just be patient it will all work out.

Misa when he was new growled and flattened ears back and prepared for a full blown attack when he saw me in an aussie hat and reckon he had bad probs in the past with someone in a hat.

Or Aussie's  :evillaugh:

Mogs used to bite me all the time when I first got her. I guessed she wasnt used to attention and didnt know how to let me know she'd had enough so she'd thump me and wrap her mouth round my hand. I used to expect blood but she never actually drew blood so it was just a warning. Now shes fine she just walks away when shes had enough although that tends to be quite some time after I have  :evillaugh:

Amber has only hissed at me twice once was when I brought Mogs back from the vets and she decided Mogs was an intruder so we both got hissed at. The other was when I picked her up and she had cystitis and must have had a sore tummy. She was on the way to the vets at the time though so I had to pick her up to put her in the carrier even though I felt bad.

I would assume its part of getting to know you and you being out and smelling different. If it continues though I would get a vet check just in case

Do you smell different ... had you been to the petrol station, used different hand cream, different soap, touched another cat?  There is a strong chance you just didn't smell like "mummy" which is why he hissed.

My thoughts too - some cats smell first and ask questions later!   :evillaugh:

In ancient times cats were worshiped as gods; they have not forgotten this.

Perhaps I'm just over cautious (coz I'd worry if our Thomas did it) but hissing isn't something I've come across unless there is a wee problem? e.g. an abscess or something? Does he need a pal?

Star bit me a few times when I first had her, she is a bag of nerve and was very neglected in her old home so I think she just expected people to be horrible and got in first!  she is fine now still a bit nervous and runs a mile if anyone coughs but hasn't bitten for ages
