Hi Nicola,
Sorry to hear about the passing of jet, but well done for taking such a positive step and rescuing a new furry.
I'm sure Jet would be very proud of her mum for taking on Garfield, and although you'll vever forget Jet, she'll always be in your heart.
Hugs from Tracy and Merlin :Luv:

Nice to have you on here Nicola, although your post has brought a tear to my eye (again, really should stop getting upset!). I hope Garfield helps that hole left by Jet, and you are right, she would be happy that you could help another cat, she sadly knew what it was like to be on the streets, and by adopting him, it means another furbabe can be helped.
Please spay your cat

Hi Nicola and Garfield  :welcome: to Purrs,

Sorry to hear about Jet but as you say I'm Jet will be looking down and and smiling that you have offered another special kitty a forever home.

It's good to have another East Midlander on the site (I'm in Nottingham, Netherfield).

Looking forward to hearing more about Garfield and of course seeing some pics  ;)

Hi I'm Nicola
Mom to the recently passed Jet (pre adopted name - Martha) and recently adopted Garfield (pre adopted name - Felix).
I adopted both of my cats through Desley, I thought i'd join and introduce myself.

I'm Married to a wonderful cat lover, and we live house in a nice quiet cul-de-sac in Mansfield, Nottingham, as short drive from Sherwood forest which is well known for both Robin Hood and Centre Parcs  ;D

When we first adopted Jet we were living in apartment and Jet was the purrfect indoor cat, eventually she did venture outdoors again but never for long. Unfortunately Jet was laid to rest on Saturday due to a combination of problems and age. The void in our lives was so painful, we couldn't bear to be at home, every little noise from upstairs made us think that Jet was going to appear at the bottom of the stairs, seeing no litter tray and food bowl laid out was disturbing. So when we let Desley know of Jet's situation she told us about Felix (now Garfield - he's a spitting image) knowing that Jet would be happy to know we'd offered another Cat a home who needed one have given us alot of comfort.

Although Garfield has helped us come to terms with Jet's passing he will never replace her.

Nicola, Chris, Garfield & Gypsy

I cannot deny that a cat lover and his cat have a master/slave relationship. The cat is the master.
