They've been keeping in touch already telling me how he's getting on. He's hiding behind the sofa (but he sometimes does that anyway I think when he feels a little under the weather so it's no surprise in a new environment) but he's eating well.

I told them about his particular symptoms and said to keep an eye on his litter tray as he suffers a little from constipation. I received a really cheery text saying he'd done a poo the size of half a sausage! They love him and were already calling him "Old Man Sundae" before I left  :Luv:

I had a phonecall just before Christmas from a lady who wanted to rehome one of our oldies, Sundae. Sundae is an incredibly special cat. He is renal, deaf, not got good eyesight, can't jump higher than a foot and generally not everyone's idea of a handsome cat. He was found in someone's garden and we didn't think he'd make it but a couple of days in the warm with a bit of syringe-feeding and a generous dose of love soon perked him up.

Anyhow, the lady who called was aware of all his quirks and it didn't bother her one bit. She said she'd had cats before although never encountered CRF before. Suffice to say she's now an expert.

They came to meet him on New Year's Day and fell in love. They immediately saw beyond his gangliness and tatty fur and decided to take him.

I did my first home-visit and it was perfect. They'd earmarked a utility area, quiet as far as people coming in or out but lovely and warm from the washing machine and dryer whirring away. I kept looking for pitfalls but they really are the nicest people I've ever met.

I took him to his new mum and dad today. They had bought PAH! But they'd really considered their purchases, buying a really suitable bed and even carefully chosen cat-litter for his needs. They made a very generous donation, donated a really nice bed to the shelter and offered to put a lot in our auction.

They've texted me already to let me know he's munching away on his tea and been hiding by the radiator. I really wouldn't have believed such nice people exist had I not seen it for myself. I told them about Purrs and the support we'll give them on here when they have questions about his kidneys so they may just join soon!

Anyway, just thought I'd share my joy!  :Luv:
