I think have some of that stuff you can use for presents, you have the little shaper thing that you pull  it through and you get nice curls. NEVER been able to use it so will sort that out too. That will do for tying them at the ends.
I'll try to get in the loft the weekend, but feeling a bit poo at the mo, I ach from head to toe and my joints feel like that dont belong to me.  :'(

On these ivy things there was some gold hearts but Zubin has pulled them off, hence why I didnt use them as decos this year. I think there is litte  white daisy on them too, really pretty.

Will be very much appreciated thanks Gail.

Have been quite lucky in buying Berries at knock down prices , but not so lucky with foliage so leaves, miniature fir cones, Christmas type flowers, ribbons etc all greatly appreciated.

I'll Pop into the shops and see if I can find anything suitable.  :)

OOOOOOO I do have some Ivy leaves, they were actually a wedding decoration on the back of the chairs. They were being thrown out so I had some for Christams decos. I will dig them out, I have to go in the loft so will see if they are ok.  How about ribbon for the ends of the crackers? Gold/silver. I do what I can to help.

Do you want me to spray some ferns? if so what colour, I guess silver or gold?

Gill a huge thank you for the thought but I think ferns need to be dried and treated first; we are grateful for anything artificial.  :)

Hiya Everyone

Just a quick reminder now that people are starting to slowly take down their xmas decorations - we would really appreciate any small decorations that you no longer like/want!!!

Also if you have any left over bits from inside your Xmas crackers that we can use again, we would gladly accept them rather than them being chucked in the bin.

Teresa is itching to make crackers already!!

Thank you,

Claire xx

Oh no Teresa, will leave that to you and Clare cos you are much better at it than I would be  ;D

What I am interested in is mounts for pictures, large ones and also glass or equivalent for frames, so always on the look out for somewhere new.

If anyone fancies making a donation of hobbycraft vouchers in aid of the cracker project you can actually order online to go direct to the recipient...  http://www.hobbycraft.co.uk/

Do you have a hobbycraft anywhere near you?  They sell all sorts of arts and crafty bits, I'd be happy to make a pre-Christmas donation of hobbycraft vouchers and then instead of receiving X amount from a flat donation you could treble/quadruple (maybe more?) the donation by making and selling your beautiful crackers  :)

Thanks for the info Teresa, dont have any leaves like that but there are some ferns growing at the bottom of my garden  ;D

The only place they will end up is the compost bin but wonder if they can be sprayed and at what point it should be done, ie just after picking or dried? I suspect the former cos otherwise they will fall apart, maybe Gillian can advise me ?

Gill the leaves are artificial, some silk, plastic, fabric; the ones on the black crackers were real fern leaves sprayed with colour, it doesnt matter we just cut off the bits we want and put them together with other bits and bobs. Must say Claire and I have great fun making them and I am looking forward to starting production again.

By the way, I bought some of these crackers this year and they are truly wonderful.  Much better than anything you would get in the shops!

Here at Paws Inn we are already thinking ahead to Christmas 2008 and of the different ways to raise funds.
One of the things we do really well is making luxury Christmas Crackers, for these we use artificial leaves, berries,Christmas flowers etc to make our own decorations.I have got the local garden centre collecting damaged decorations for me to recycle but could really use a lot more and they dont have to be new,we simply cut off bits we need.
So if anyone has any Artifical Christmas flowers, berries and leaves or indeed any small unwanted cracker sized gifts we will be more than grateful for them.
Thank you and Merry Christmas for 2007.
