Hi all,
The hubby and I are trying for our first baby. We have planned the pregnancy and obviously Millie is paramount in our lives.
We have started playing baby sounds to her, ones exactly designed for cats. We are also going to start using baby lotion on our hands so she get used to the baby smell. Some people may think we are doing this too early as I'm not pregnant but if it means Millie will be happy ill do it for decades if I need to!!
So I'm looking for advice/stories about babies and their cat(s)
I do know about the suffocation stories, and again we will take all safety measures with that.
A bit more about Millie and her personality:
Very loving and laid back
Loves people and attention (of course!!)
Has a strong bond with me and has done for 12 years (her age)
Friendly, likes to sit with friends/family and strangers that come into the house
Patient e.g. With my mums bichon puppy, Millie will play with her but when Ångel gets too excited Millie will walk off!!
Adapts fairly well, will sometimes become needy if we move furniture. We went to my mums for Xmas, we all moved in for a week. We got there around 6.30 and by the next morning she was happy and made herself at home.
Loves bedtime with the hubby and I
Loves to be held and kissed by me!!
We have a set routine for Mills, 9am-10am outside, in till 4-5 then outside, then in till 9-10 when she goes out and then back in till morning. This fits around our work as well and we implement this 7 days a week.
We have decided the time for Millie, even when the baby is here will be bedtime. This is because it is more achievable and its her favourite time for cuddles etc
She's a short haired calico
12 years old
I got Mills when she was a kitten, I was 11. She lived at my mums until she was 7, which is when I moved into my own house. Originally my mum wouldn't let me take Millie. Before we moved into our house we went away for 2 weeks. When I got back my mum said Millie had cried constantly, not eaten and not slept. So it was decided that I would take Millie. In a our new house Millie was fine, after a week I let her out and she's been happy ever since.
Hope this gives you enough info!!!
Looking forward to any stories, comments or suggestions on how to prepare my gorgoeus girl!!!
Many thanks in advance
