Gill, am so pleased Franta is making progress.  Bless him, sounds like he's all tuckered out with everything, which is understandable.  Sending gentle snoozles for him  :cat rub:

Also thinking about the poor little RTA cat.  I'd be growly too.  :(

Greatly relieved to hear that he is improving albeit slowly and delighted that he is getting such good care at vets and that you are able to keep up to date with his progress

Hoping this continues and sending much love to our little soldier

Nice to hear something positive  :naughty:

It sounds like you have a  great vet as well, which is always very useful. They aren't all as accommodating, so it's good to know Franta is in good hands.

Just back from my visit and Franta was asleep lol,,,,,so only stayed half an hour.

The vet nurse was very nice and said not long before he had been eating and drinking and rubbing against the cage door, also tiurning round and round.............his way of trying to get the drip out LOL

Before we got to his quarters she said he likes attention, doesnt he .......oh yes thats my Franta  ;D

He has been washed and his bedding gets changed frquently cos of the dripping catheter.

He tried valiently to keep his eyes open but he really couldnt manage it for long and he is still lying on his side.

It was very quiet there and the noisy dogs have all gone home now. There was a new rta black and white cat in next cage, came into day and has a paw so damaged it will have to be amputated but the cat is not in the right condition to have anesthetic yet. Very growly if touched but think he is just in pain from his paw and scared.

I dont think Franta can hear that much really but he knew I was there and I chatted to him and sent all your best wishes and let him go back to sleep and dream about mouskies and things. Took some more of his food in.

I will be back to see him tomorrow and vet nurse said I can ring tonight if I want, they are being so kind .

Gareth also told me they can set up a payment plan for Franta cos his bill on the first day was £500 and counting.

So onward and upward and hope he improves again by tomorrow.

Thank you all so much

Vet has eventually rung and his kidney levels have gone down again but still not enough for them to remove the catheter to see if he can empty his bladder by himself.

So he will remain as he is for another 24 hrs and so hope that the levels will reduce again.

Once they feel his levels are in the normal range then they will try removing the catheter to see what happens, its one stage at a time slowly slowly and he is still in stage one although now better than yesterday.

I am hoping to go visit him about 1600 so will be leaving in an hour as long as they say its OK to come, think they are very busy which of course we all know that cats always know when its a holiday.............sigh

They say he is bright but my idea of a bright Franta is not theirs and they will be pleading with me to take him home if he really becomes bright!

Its gonna be another 48 hrs at least before he will be able to come home and they wont let him come home until he is completely out of danger.

Thank you again for all your thoughts, I am sure the Purrs vibes are helping him

The vet rang me this morning and I was terrified.

All she told me was what I altready knew and they had just taken his blood and she would ring me back with the results but that was over two hours ago, so now I am very worried.

They had normal surgury this morning so am hoping she is just very busy cos its so important that his levels have dropped again. Will be going to visit this afternoon and she recommended between 1500 and 1600 but to ring first.

So now I am just sitting worrying and just cant do anything.

I have even asked them yesterday to take on Ducha from the other vets, cos I feel they are doing such a good job.

Everything stopped for Franta yesterday so he could get immediate treatment and I appreciate that so much. Gareth was due to start operating but saw Franta after their closing time for appts and then took him straightaway for treatment.

I also rang just before midnight to see how he was and they had all the info to hand. Today Gareth was there and came to tell me about the current tests.

Gareth said that even as bad as he was yesterday, Franta still looked a regal cat  ;D
