BB's ashes are with me now, she's on a shelf right next to the end of my bed, close to the spot she and Harry used to share.

Aaaaaw bless Joe's little heart - I reckon BB was sending him a message from the Bridge.

It's not just the cat itself that we all miss it's all the little things they did that remind us of them constantly.

Smudge always loved me kissing his eyes when they were shut and when I got Bonnie I tried it with her and she didn't like it - strangely enough I woke up in the middle of the night and as per usual I turn to Bonnie and give her a kiss but for some strange reason I kissed her eyes and she let me. Smudge must've sent her a message to say how nice it is

Thats pretty much what my vet said Carol, and I can see it would have been prolonging the agony for us both.

BB loved Harry right from the moment she arrived 3 yrs ago, she wasnt keen on any of the others. She used to make a funny little chirruping noise every time she saw him, and then when she was diagnosed with the tumour back in February, he was her constant companion. Every day they would sleep the day away on my bed together, he'd sometimes wash her face. Then it would be the same again at night time, either both curled up next to me, or both squashed into one of those round fleecy beds (on my bed

) . When I came home from the vets I had to strip the bed and throw the duvet cover away because I couldnt bear to see it without her and him on it together.

I followed this thread, but did not react, I work in a cancer clinic and didn't want to voice what I was thinking, didn't want to crush your hopes......

She knew you helped her, saved her from worse suffering, believe me.

Please don't beat yourself up about this Gillian. As Sue (Paddy'smum) wisely said when Paddy went to the bridge, we cannot dictate how these things will go. Had you brought BB home it would have been a painful night for both of you but this way she is spared that pain. You loved her and as always you did what was best for for her, regardless of your own suffering. That will have been her last thought.
