I agree that cats generally will take as much exercise as they want, although indoor cats may need more time spent playing.  A bored cat may just sleep a lot so worth having a few short sessions throughout the day trying to get them to run around.  Mine aren’t kittens any more (7 and 17) but I find a few minutes actively playing with them and getting them to chase toys is all they sometimes need and then they are happy to settle down.  They do play with each other though and often chase each other around so get exercise then.  I’m conscious that as indoor cats it would be all too easy for them to just sleep the day away so I try to find games to play at points throughout the day to keep them mentally active as well as give them physical exercise.

Hello,

My little cat is quite lazy, but when we start playing with him, he becomes more energetic. So I try to spend some time with him every day even though I have a busy schedule at the moment.

Hello,

For my cats, the only exercise they do is to run after their fur.

Hi,

I would say that most cats will do as much or as little as they want.  As they are playing with each other then that's probably all the activity they require.  As long as they have things to play with they will be ok :)
In ancient times cats were worshiped as gods; they have not forgotten this.

I have 2 young cats one is 2 years and the other one is  14 months. How much activity should they be getting at some stage in the day? They seem to be maximum lively in the early morning after which calm down for the rest of the day for naps which I expect is ordinary for a cat.

How long does each day I need to try and get them to play aside from their chasing of each different?
