I see there is a Bengal that went missing in London on Saturday (Ironically in Commercial Road, the Bengali area ) - lots of Londoners in Whitstable at the weekend - have you seen the pic PB?

Yes, Sam. We've got a very good Lost and Found lady. Whenever she gets a report, she emails all the vets, other rescues as well as the national registers. She is our Columbo!  :evillaugh:

You missed nothing at the meeting, Mark. Lots of moaning, empty promises... the usual. It would be lovely if half the ideas came to fruition. We will have to see!  :innocent:

They are all at the CP meeting tonight except me who foolishly decided to "close my eyes for 10 minutes" at 5.30pm having been up since 6am (and 7am saturday & Sunday) - As Julie said, there seems to be a queue of takers as he is lucky enough to be ped. :Luv:

oooh its happening now Pink Bear, believe me.  You just need to speak to Bengal Cat Rescue and breeders to know that.....all I am saying is to give his owner the benefit of the doubt for a little bit, its not necessariy the case she has 'thrown him away'.

Well, the vet is a well respected one, used by almost everyone in town and people from miles away. If his owners are caring, they will be the first port of call.  :sneaky: And I'm almost sure they will contact any nearby known breeders to see if he's recognised.

It's in Herne Bay, Kent, Gail... I'm not sure what his colour is but if I get a chance to see him I'll let you know.

I'm afraid I have to agree with MM. We live in such a throw away society, people think nothing of spending hundreds on a kitten then getting bored 6 months later. We rehomed a Ragdoll a month or so ago that wasn't wanted anymore.  And I've seen so many Siamese in rescue and so it's going to happen to Bengals.  :(

I agree he should be chipped, but until an attempt is made to locate his owner it's best not to second guess their motives for not doing so.  He might belong to someone irresponsible, but it may be that his owner has his/her reasons for not chipping.  Some people don't like the idea of chipping as its inserting a foreign body into the cat and there has been a study implying that there may be a relationship between microchips and cancer (an extremely tenuous link based on a study carried out on mice - not nearly enough to convince me not to microchip).

I do agree that chipping is the absolute right thing to do but need to be careful about the assumptions being made about the breeder here.  Gail is right, he needs advertising.  Only issue is that an entire male bengal will have a much bigger wanderlust radius than a normal tom so goodness knows how far he could have travelled........

I'd love to see him if you have any pics.  Also if you want PM me and I will let you know if there are any breeders known to me in the area he was found.

A responsible breeder would have chipped studs so hes probably owned by someone who bought a kitten from a less desirable breeder without a neuter agreement and is too lazy to sort him out. Bengals are so common now.

I would say he has escaped from a breeder, being an entire Tom. Bless.

He needs to be advertised. but Not as a Bengal, just general,not colour or Sex, just when and where. I hope they find his owner. They must be going mad with worry.

Our Sharon got a call today, from one of our major vets. They say a lady walked in with a Bengal in a box. Apparantly it just waltzed in her back door demanding breakfast. It's an entire Tom!  :innocent:  :shify:

There is now a scramble amoungst various vets, nurses and other folks who want to adopt it. Do you think if I painted spots on Apache and Squaw I could get away with it?  :evillaugh: :evillaugh:
