Just cos they are a POM doesn't mean you can't, it just means you have to get a prescription first - but vets have to give you one free by law.

Ahhhh. I just assumed with Drontal not being, Milbemax wouldn't be, either!

Well, I've given them one tablet each as I can't weigh them and would rather not overdose them! Hopefully it'll do the trick. I have to admit to only seeing evidence of the problem in one of my cats, so hopefully it's sorted now. We did have a bit of an outbreak of fleas just over a month ago, and since then the house has been flead thoroughly as havce the cats!

£5 a tab is expensive. Can't you get them off VetUK for less?

I am like you GAil, I have to buy Milbemax. Fortunately mine aren't as expensive as yours though, and I can get them down without having to buy treats!!

14 pounds is just under 7kg`s. I think a bit more than 1 tablet might be needed for these pusses!!  ;D

OK, I know all my cats were around 14lbs each at the last weighing and there wasn't much variation between them. They  haven't really lost any weight since then.(Well, it definately doesn't feel like it!) So I think one tablet per cat should be safe. I don't have weighing scales, though. (No,really. Not even bathroom scales!)

I can't get Drontal down mine, I have to buy milbemax, dam expensive at nearly £5 per tab. Then I have to go to the Chippy and buy a piece of chicken. My kitties are just too spoilt.

OK, the drontal tablets are here;they're huge! I'm assuming it's one per cat, is that right?(My cats are about average sized.)

Worming tablets etc kill what worms the cat has at that time - it does not keep them worm free!
So you could worm today and your cat could catch worms again next week.
Remember to Deflea aswell at the same time

Thanks, Ela. I was pretty horrified TBH. The only other time any of my cats has had worms is when my oldest girl (again!) first came to live with me from "the place that cannot be named!"

OK, I've ordered my drontal for the cats and am due to get it tomorrow. The only problem is, while cleaning up a poo by my oldest girl  I saw a white wiggly thing in it.....yeuch! Anyway, my question is does the drontal kill worms that are already there or is it solely a preventative?
