This is my weekend visitor, Carlos.
Carlos was picked up by one of our fosterers, unfortunately she is busy over the weekend but will take him back on Monday. The poor soul apparantly does have an owner - he has a Spanish chip and was imported in March. But we've now had 2 reports about him not being looked after and begging from everyone in the street. He was is such a bad way when she went to investigate, she wouldn't leave him there and took him home - Carlos didn't mind one bit!
He is filthy, starving hungry, alive with fleas, his pads are swollen and blistered, his coat is thick with matted lumps....
Sadly we are told that if Carlos's owner turns up and wants his cat back, there is little we can do other than stiff him with the vet's bill for fixing Carlos' problems.
But it's surprising how often cats escape from fosterers homes, isn't it?
