Teresa, did they have litter trays in the cupboard? If not, they're probably used to peeing on whatever surface they had in there. If it was carpet you can do the carpet in the tray trick. (Piece of carpet gradually being covered more and more with cat lit, eventually moving the carpet altogether.)

Am just going to try a softer litter in 2 of the trays nearest to where the piddler strikes; solar powered light sounds good will give it a go; right now this old granny is grateful for any new ideas

Ah the joys of the free-piddler! :Luv: A new litter texture may do the trick, but make sure you change over slowly or you may set off the others also (teaching my grandmother to suck eggs here I am sure). Could you leave a nightlight on? One of those solar powered cheapies should do the trick if it is light-based behaviour...

Trying to think how to solve this problem, 2 piddles and 1 poop still on pen floor, they have been vet checked, have 6 litter trays in their pen as well as Minimopsicals pads. Some trays are low some are higher they even have a covered one outside, going to go and buy a different litter to see if that helps; Whichever kitten or kittens it is they are only doing it during the night I wonder if they are stressed by the dark.
Everywhere is cleaned with virkon and simple solution used so its not smell related.
Anyone got any ideas ?

I am sooooooooo proud of my little cupboard family this morning;piddle and poop all in the litter trays despite their ordeal at the vets yesterday; fingers crossed that their newly aquired toilet habits continue. Alice (mum) is recovering well from her spay.

Alice and the 5 kittens have been to the vets for vaccinations this morning. They all have terrible teeth thankfully kittens will have adult teeth to fall back on. Alice is not pregnant so she is being spayed and microchipped today, she has also tested negative Fiv/Felv, a huge relief. Vet says kittens are grossly undersized and says they are at least a month older than they look.
Amelia the pregnant one I thought looked about 6months old until I saw her teeth and then I decided 5years so perhaps she is a youngster after all;the mind boggles.
At least they are all safe and this morning no poop or piddle on the floor, hopefully the vet trip wont set them back.

Still considering changing from Paws Inn to Piddle Towers or maybe Poop Hall, almost there but one kitten still pooping and at least one maybe two weeing everywhere; all off to vets in the morning for check up and vaccinations if vet thinks they are well enough apart from little Amelia the pregnant one. Also taking the mum Alice to see if she is indeed pregnant. All 5 kittens play happily now but they are still all sleeping in the outdoor run.

Ruth No need for you to leave without one, you can stay here with them all piddle an all.

You know my weakness for B&W babies with little smudgies on their noses! How am I going to leave without one of them?! Tell me that! Huh Missus! I swear these cats do it just because they know they have weaklings like me coming to visit soon.

:catluv: I love them. I want them.. all!  Lexy will make do. I promise, nasty claw and all.   :gimme: :gimme: :gimme:

I've only just caught up with this... I just can't understand how folks can do this sort of thing, not when I look at my two free to come and go in the house and garden and be waited upon hand and foot.

This sort of thing makes me so cross, but kudos to Teresa for taking these little ones on and giving them what they need.

Alice and 3 of the kittens coming to me for a fuss this morning, the remaining  kittens still very timid. All poop in the litter trays, only 3 puddles on the floor;progress is being made. They are all looking so much happier and healthier than when they arrived earlier in the week; I just look at them and feel a big lump in my throat and keep fighting back the tears of joy that they are now out of that hell hole. They are lovely and deserve so much more bless them.

What an awful situation! I am so pleased that they are now being well cared for, well fed and most importantly well loved for the first times in their little lives. You do such an amazing job T.

I've got my fingers crossed that the possibly early pregnant puss isn't, poor little girl.

They are gorgeous cats and kittens and they will simply blossom under your love and care  :Luv:

Two lots of poop on floor this morning and so much wee the carpet has had to be destroyed. Two of the kittens are still quite traumatised, the others are playing but so timid bless them. The mother cat is becoming increasingly confident and enjoys being stroked so I guess its 2 steps forward and one step backward. The whole family is still choosing to stay in the little outside run even to sleep, they only seem to go inside the chalet for food and toilet. This is going to take time.
