Jasmine, neither had I until one of mine was diagnosed! You learn how to give injections quick smart, I can tell you. It's definately worth it, though.

Thanks Jasmine, I've just looked at their website and it sounds fab........although a good distance away, it's great that they are not caged and are homed with carers.  I will see if I can get someone nearer to take her in, if not 9 lives would be a good option.

I could provide B&B in the Midlands & transport onto London if neccessary.
I would point out that I have had no experience of diabetic cats though.

London's too far really, I'm in North Wales so it's about 4 hours away, and I will probably end up having to take her to her destination if I get her in somewhere.  Derby is a possibility but if I can get somewhere nearer for her, that would be great.  Angie, have you got St Francis's number please, I may give them a ring as a last option.........has anyone been there or taken cats there?

Can you not try 9Lives in London. We managed to get Dopey in there a few months back with a similar condition, he was also on the verge of being PTS. Not sure where you are, but you never know.

Cannot save the world, but if everyone does something we can have a jolly good job trying too....

Aaaah, for shame! I already have one little junkie so couldn't afford another. Good luck finding a loving home for this little one.

Vet's just been on the phone and an old lady has left her diabetic cat there, wanting her to be put to sleep.  Since she's been diagnosed with Diabetes, she's not really made the effort to get her stabilised so Sean has asked her permission to see if he could try and rehome her.  She's approx 16/17 years old and will need insulin injections and her diet sorting.  Sean said she's a really sweet cat and she's ginger so it could possibly be a he  :)

She's being kept in the surgery at the moment but they can't keep her indefinitely, if anyone is interested in giving this old timer a home, could they please contact me asap.
