Her head is all healed, but nerves are setting in now as she's due her next scan tomorrow, the last one brought such unexpected news I'm praying so much she's stable. We didn't think she'd make her birthday but she has she is one tough cookie

The collar is punctured, but she's not been scratching so I've left it off, at least she's eating and drinking now

She fell asleep on the sofa last night so left her there. This morning got up to find she'd removed the inflatable collar and buried it in her litter tray
Because I'm in all day today I've told her she can keep it of as long as she doesn't scratch, so she's had a clean, drank some Water and gone to sleep on the sofa again.
The collar is still stressing her out though and she won't eat or drink wearing it, hopefully the steroid injection has helped with the injection so she's not as itchy, had her nails trimmed at the vet as well

Sorry.  If it's right on her head a onesie no gud but inflatable collar should be fine.

What about an inflatable collar or even a onesie?

We ended up putting a onesie on Elsa to stop her interfering with her spay stitches as trying to put the cone back on after she ate was a nightmare.  She got used to it quite quickly.

Noni recently had to wear an inflatable collar and she could eat fine with it on and it didn't bother her much at all.

She's really not happy with the cone, she can't eat with it on so have to take it of but getting it back on is a nightmare. As soon as it's of she tries to scratch her head, so she definitely needs it on :(

at first the vet thought she'd been bit, but then saw a similar patch on the other side of her head. He checked for fleas, mites, ringworm and nothing he now thinks shes had an allergic reaction and shes scratched herself as its been irritating her. Shes had an injection of steroids and antibiotics and a weeks worth of oral antibiotics. But far worst then that she has a cone of shame and is not happy about it at all, we've got to try to keep it on her and take her back in a week for a check up

I think I've been blaming the other two wrongly, I've got a feeling she's been scratching her head and caught it making it bleed. She's been fine all day, no further bleeding I swear I don't fuss as much/get as stressed over daughter's health as I do bellas

There's me laid in bed worrying about her all night and this morning she's looks as fit as a fiddle, we did shut her in the living room on her own last night. And while we're at work today I'm going to keep them separated, more because I don't want her knocking the scab of while we're out.

One of the other cats must  have had a go at Bella, she just came into the living room with blood stained fur. Have managed to apply pressure and stop the bleeding but it's really not what she needs :(

Thanks everyone I think I've come to the conclusion that there's a time for being sad and that's not now, just enjoy her while we can. I'm 99% sure it's her love for dd that has kept her going all this time

I am glad you now have a plan for Bella, sometimes releasing the medical side a little takes the stress off all round, we have some of what we call our borrowed time children, Brady 4 years with a jaw tumour only lost 25g and enjoying the sunshine, Jester had a stroke months ago and has steroid injections every 3 weeks and a Vit B for good measure and aside from he walks like he has had one or two Vodka's to many is doing well, this pair are still with us despite the vets diagnosis and are doing well, we like to think its a little Clan cats magic and hard work put n by us as well x

Bellas being a good girl and taking her tablets, sometimes it takes a couple of goes to get them in. She has her moments but generally is getting tired a lot quicker than before and spending lots of time sleeping . Her response rate is settling around 30. Me and dh have discussed how far we will go to keep her alive and have decided at what we are and aren't willing to do. It sounds very morbid but actually it's freeing as we can just enjoy her until the time comes.  Dd is coping she has moments when she gets sad but is spending time just being with her. Bella is the only cat allowed in her bedroom for bedtime stories, and tonight dh upset dd and Bella was very upset with him.

Think the young lady is feeling better, caught her trying to drink my cup of tea, she hasn't done that in ages. At one point I couldn't put a cup of tea down as she'd have her head stuck in it having a drink

Dh said if you give her chicken now she'll want it everytime, my opinion is that if it takes chicken to get the tablet into her then so be it. Today she's being very fussy and wants constant strokes, she's fallen asleep on my knee (not done that in ages) sleep purring so my trip to the shop for milk is delayed until she moves.
