Awww, what a shame would have bid full price at end as well even if no other offers even if just to help us get our old puter to speed up a little (never mind Nick) :(

Oops, wrong thread.

I'm afraid that after careful consideration I have decided to withdraw this offer .I had thought it might be useful offer but after a rather unfortunate start I have decided otherwise.
Apologies to those that have already bid.

sorry Sar this sort of repair is way beyond the scope of this auction I'm afraid.

Oh Poop!  :(  I had quite a bit saved up too!   :(

Thanks for letting me know though!  Might give you a shout if I decide to getting round to building a PC!   :)

I know you'll get a good donation from this though!  I'm just sorry that I'm not a general PC user or I would have been bidding like anything!

I can install a firewall and anti virus software to protect your pride and joy, search out and destroy Trojans  ;D
Show you how to tune your laptop and get the most out of it.
Organise your files and folders. uninstall stuff thats clogging up your resources.
Show you how to Back up your favourites burn data and multimedia  discs
Perform a complete check of your whole system, hardware and software and give you a report including all the serial numbers of the liscences .
all this whilst learning to cook a curry hopefully ... ;)

yes I can do componant level motherboard repairs what is wrong with yours Sar ,do you know?

It's the 'dreaded logic board issue'!  You can read a guy's 'quick fix' and description here!

I'm not sure if you'd be able to deal with the soldering or it really does completely need a new logic board?!  Would be great if you could get my little old lappy working again though!!

Mmmm its possible but sometimes extremly frustrating and time consuming to diagnose and talk through a remote repair  :tired: :tired: :tired:
The other problem is its very difficult to do some things like driver reinstalls and registery repairs etc by phone lol

Its a good idea though so I am up to offer it in fact I'll edit my posts I think so that a remote DIY is tried first thanks Tan
oh by the way no I started a laptop repair business last year when I broke my back and had no income source. I wasn't sure if I would be able to walk again.
I still have a workshop full floor to ceiling with about 60 laptops and parrts lol.

I have always had computer building /repair as a hobby though ;)

Good one Nick.  ;D
Is that what ya do for a living? So does me hubby Chappie.

Wonder if you could do this via remote assistence then the laptop doen't have to be posted? or an hour of remote assitance basic pc skills?

Excellent idea. Thanks.
xx

Ok thats my promise I'll sort out any software problems, driver issues, internet issues, Start up and close down problems, slow running, virus, No boot up issues, Data recovery etc etc.
Generally this type of repair takes between 1 hour and 4 hours and I charge £15.00 per half hour on a `no fix no fee basis'

Obviously if its been in the bath with you or you sat on the screen and broke it or it dropped out of the cable car etc  then that would be beyond the scope of this auction really

So the auction is for ` talk you through' DIY service repair health check by phone for up to 1 hour worth £30.00  . If I cannot fix the problem I will refund the member ie pay the £30.00 to Ron's cats.

Please note if the laptop needs to be posted then the owner will be responsible for postage to me but I will pay the cost of return postage as a further donation to Ron's cats.
