results finally back after a nail-biting 5 days!! Her level has gone from 499 down to 3.9 so it looks like the injection worked!!

Results were not back yesterday so have to wait till Monday

A funny thing happened last night, I went out and stayed with a friend, and my mum was in the kitchen cooking some pasta, when the smoke alarm kept going off! Nothing was burning, so she went in the hall and Silvie had done a massive poo in her tray. Mum turned the smoke alarm off, as soon as she switched it back on it went off again. Turns out it was Silvie's stinker that had set it off

. As soon as it was removed and disposed it, the smoke alarm went back to normal. Maybe there is still some radioactivity in her bowels!

Silvie has settled in well really quickly considering the time she has been away, nearly 4 weeks. Keeps trying to get out the cat flap

but now settled down on the back of the settee with me. She did do a tremendous sneeze early, just as I was sitting there eating my dinner, so it had a fine coating of radioactive nasal spray over some of it!

Will update tomorrow when I get the results back

Silvie is home!! had quite an easy journey to Canterbury and back. We got there an hour early and they let us be seen earlier. She was pleased to see me and was really good on the journey home. 1 hour in my friends car, then back into mine for the last half hour. She is a bit disorientated and also sneezing, possibly picked up a respiratory infection there so will have to keep an eye on her. Got to wait for blood test results tomorrow for her thyroid and everything crossed they come back okay. Just so pleased to have her home! Thank you for all your messages and best wishes. I will try and sort out a photo soon and post it on here.

Silvie's levels are enough for her to come home now, so we will be off to pick her up tomorrow evening at 5.45pm

Silvie still doing really well. She is still in the unit but they let her out for a wander in the mornings. Today she will have her radio active levels checked again and hopefully they will be low enough for her to come home soon

I haven't worked out how to post photos on here yet, need to find out and then i can post some pics for you to see her. The vets love her, said she is a really lovely cat. They don't know about her early years when her ex-owner had her as a stable cat where I used to keep my horse, along with her brother. She wanted them to breed together as they were both so pretty

sadly her brother got run over and after Silvie used to wander down to the same mainish road, i catnapped her

Smuggled her home in the boot of my car one night with my friend acting as look out. She has been a pampered cat ever since. Once she was spayed,, vaccinated and de-feralled

had a phone call from the vets today, Silvie had a scan and her radiation levels are too high for her to come out of the unit (hers are 80, they must be under 25) but hopefully by next Wednesday when they test her again they will be fine. They let her out today for some exercise but she kept trying to hide

but she has put on weight and still eating well so that's good!

One of the lovely vet nurses rang me this morning as their website was down. Silvie is still eating really well and they said she is a lovely easy cat and loves all the attention. She has lost a little bit of weight, went from 3.1 to 2.90 but they said nothing to worry about, thats normal, and also she didn't eat for 2 days. (but making up for it now

). Another week to go and they will check her radioactive levels. She said she will probably need to stay there another 2 weeks but a few cats have been known to go home after 2 weeks. If she carries on eating a lot and drinking a lot, and weeing and pooing a lot, hopefully she may be one of those few

She had the injection last wednesday so they wait for 2 weeks and then test her for radioactivity levels. So hopefully that will be the 7th of June. If she ok can come home prob the weekend of the 11th, but if she is still radioactive may take a little longer. The more she eats and drinks, the quicker she will pass it through her system

. They did warn me that it could take up to 4 weeks before she comes home, but I am hoping its sooner than that! Miss her little face sitting next to me on the settee

Vets emailed me earlier said Silvie still eating well, she is bright and purring away, so I am happy and can't wait to have her home now

Not sure what pill they gave her, although I am thinking it probably was a steroid but it did the trick, she ate her food overnight, phew!

i spoke to a vet nurse there this morning and they said she had eaten everything overnight but will keep an eye on her and if needs be, will give her another pill to make her eat. They also update me on the Vetstoria website, which is great. Horrible when they are away from home and you can't see them

Hopefully she ate during the day.Fingers crossed for her. I assume it was a steroid pill they gave her? - Our Clapton went right offhis food in the early days of his CRF - he was also a cat that loved his food. He had a steroid jab and it worked like magic.
