Well the flu remains virulent, however Lorna seems to be breathing a little easier today and has taken a feed from Theresa. Im very worried about Mario, his eyes are swollen and sore, gluey. I'm bathing them with weak warm saline solution whenever I feed him (he is thankfully taking his gruel) but he looks so uncomfortable and, let's not beat about the bush, I'm terrified he may lose his sight. Lola has all but stopped feeding but will take her meds nicely, but panics when I approach her with the syringe or bottle so she's a worry, and poor Robbie just sneezes and snuffles and snores so is really struggling to breathe. He too panics when I try to feed him because he's so stuffed up.

Little Jarvis the baby woke up sneezing and coughing this morning

Theresa has fully adopted him now and she trills her concern at me, then washes him all over and cuddles him to her where he takes a small feed before nodding off.

She's doing her best, bless her, she's also had an upset tummy for two days but thankfully her droppings were more solid and less toxic this morning.

I've got a potential new home for Lulu - a lady who runs a local childminding service wanted two kittens to play with her school age charges

I think she noted the alarm in my reply and is now considering an older, calmer cats for these duties.

The very best news is I've found a temporary foster home for Whiskey and her babies! A lovely lady named Emma in Essex has stepped up to care for this teeny family whilst I'm clearing my home of the Flu, and can keep them for three weeks.

The plan, therefore is thus... this 3 week relief should, just, see us clear of the infection and give me time to rehome any survivors from Theresa's brood. Theresa and wee Jarvis stay here until he's weaned at which time Theresa can be spayed and go to her forever home. Jarvis can be further socialised with Whiskey's babies and paired off with them for re-homing. Yayy. Wishing, wishing, wishing.

We've rehomed another two cats from one of my partners this week, Elvis and Priscilla are going to a lovely family in Cricklewood tomorrow afternoon and another little family of three from Chingford have been taken in by our sister branch in Lea Valley. We still have numerous friendly adult cats on the books, so if anyone has enquiries about wanting more reliable, social, young adults do get in touch!

It can and the Vit B is wonderful stuff and really does help - my vets put it in to one injection as its easier on the little ones and Complivit is a wonder as well best thing for my oldies and when they aren't well x

Liz - the Convenia - can this be given to 5 week old kittens? I've been given synulox liquid which is undoubtably helping but they stupidly made it banana flavoured and they hate it. I'm forcing it down whatever but if I know this can be avoided....

I'm also grateful to you for pushing CompliVit, it really is helping.

Vit B injections and Covenia will help out - has worked on all our litters that have had flu - some may have eye damage - Finn and Sundae my 2 x 6 month olds do but the rest were great - we will keep all paws crossed here at the Clan for all concerned x

Its awful news, we've got flu.

I think the baby Jarvis brought it with him- a risk we took. Little Lorna is very sick, she didnt ever wean so doesnt have the reserves. Thankfully Jarvis wasnt introduced to the new brood so they seem to have escaped so far, I have isolation in the summerhouse so I'm trying to get them rhomed whilst this situation lasts, but the vet nurse who came over on Sunday to see me thinks I may lose at least one, and has prepared me for the worst possible outcome that we may lose the lot, all 10 kittens.

Robbie, Mario and Lola have some weight about them but all now have symptoms, and Theresa isn't helping by witholding feeds (she thinks they should all be weaned by now so doesn't find it odd they're off their milk)

I'm understandably upset by this but am doing my damndest to stay with them, hand feeding and supplementing, I've boiled bottle after bottle of formula, made liquid feed out of Compli-Vit, drizzled water into them, anything I can think of to help the Synulox they've been on since Friday when Lorna first presented as sick.

If ever we needed vibes, peeps, its now. Prayers for Lorna baby cat.

Five kittens ! I though she'd only managed 4 when I went out this morning but she was hiding no5 who wasn't breathing right. He's fine now. Two placentas were still attached by thankfully the cords hadn't become entangled and were easily snipped away.

Ooohh ooooh GI Joe has been spotted, a neighbour(beautiful crazy Austrian friend) found him sunbathing on her garden bench this morning! Trap set with Tescos finest chikkun.

Here's what I'm doing this afternoon, having had a word with self about over commitment this morning, I've bought a bottle of sharp but delicious Sauvignon Blanc and am chillin wiv Mme Whiskey the Post Office cat.

Second pic is the top view, she's as wide as she is long now, just hope this birth comes soon.

What a shame about Lulu. I hate it when certain cats through no fault of their own end up being passed round like parcels. We want all cats to be happy and loved and cared for. So many that need care, and so few situations vacant, as it were.

Wee scrap (now renamed Jarvis) is a dark tabby, his face has the same markings as the twins, one of whom is pictured. I have to separate Theresa's own kids to allow Jarvis to suckle as they push him off rather roughly for my liking, and as they now have teeth and very powerful claws poor wee Jarvis does need a little protection.

We're off to the vet this afternoon with wee Jarvis for his first weigh in, and for Fuzz to get her microchip!

Sad news came in last night, if anyone remembers the two abandoned cats in my road, one of whom "Tilly" went to a friend of a Purrs pal? The other cat Lulu has just been made homeless for the second time this year.

I'm gutted for Lulu but illness has hit the family and they need her gone asap. If anyone can find a space for the most beautiful and friendly tri-colour female calico, aged around 3, microchiped to the person who abandoned her but sanctioned as abandoned by Celia Hammond and Cats Protection, please let me know. I'll move mountains to find this girl the home she deserves.

I thought wee scrap was a tabby altho realise the suckling pic is a little unclear? Am absolutely delighted that wee scrap is thriving though whatever it's colour Sheila. Just wonderful
