Thanks all  :thanks:

Quickie this morning as I'm late for work, but that seems to be taking further steps down my priority ladder these days  :-[ :-[

Two beautiful girls need homes, ginger mum is 7, in for spay tomorrow. Her name is Kiki and she's very affectionate when she's in the mood. Her little daughter Mittens is 11 months, quite petite at only 2.5 kgs, she's already had her spay and is ready to go. Her super affectionate nature only marred by her slap dash attitude to litter training but some kitten attractant seems to be sorting that out.

Mittens adores dogs!
And yes, I have pics this time!

Sheila, I also wanted to add my warm praise of the work you've been doing, and to say - 87 cats!!!  My gawd.   :wow: That's truly incredible.  Each and every one of those cats has been given another chance by you.  Knowing how difficult we've found handling two semi ferals, I really take my hat off to you, missus.  And I just know Theresa will be grinning from ear to ear and cheering you on from that great celestial kitten pen in the sky.   Bless ya heart.

Well done Sheila.  :pat:  Thanks to your dedication 87 cats helped that wouldn't otherwise have been.  Good luck for the future.  I hope Cats Protection realise what a star they've got in you.

By the way the frozen North Western wastelands have been thawing today and the forecast for the coming weekend is for it to be warmer and wet. Nothing new there then.  :sigh:

Great news everyone, I saw the regional manager from Cats Protection yesterday and we've been offered autonomy - our own branch of cats protection! We will have neutering branch status so will finally get the training, financial support and backing we were promised back in the summer and will be able to channel our efforts much more effectively.

Tad did our books this week - we've helped or rehomed 87 cats since July, 87! If we hadn't been blocked with so many kittens, the flu and ringworm outbreaks we could easily have doubled those numbers.

I'm utterly delighted with this opportunity, if we continue at this pace we might actually be able to put a lid on our feral explosion in 2016, and get some of these fur kids off the streets and into homes.

Thank you everyone for your support: moral, physical and financial, it has kept me going through some very dark nights and I'm hoping you will all give yourselves a little pat on the back for being such an amazing support network.

So this week's update, Razzle and Razwana went to their rescue placement in Lincoln on Sunday, a wonderful set of facebook ladies got together to organise a 3 handed relay for them, I was so proud.

We've only had one neutering in this week as the local vets have been chocca, little Clyde who turned out to be a Bonnie is recuperating in the summer house and will go on to her sanctuary this afternoon.

Tomorrow I have three little gingers coming in for neutering then rehoming to wonderful people who found us through the new facebook group.

Friday I'm in the frozen Northern wastelands with my Mum, it's her birthday Saturday so I've made arrangements to visit one of my workplace colleagues in Liverpool on Friday, stay overnight with Mum then have a rescue transport run on the way home bringing a cat from North Wales down to its new home in Luton. Phew.

I'll pop a pic of little Clyde/Bonnie on here when I get my new phone later today (early birthday pressie!) as she's soooo cute!

All good here!

Gill the crate arrived yesterday safe and sound, and perfect for our TNR work, you're amazing thank you so very much!  :thanks: :thanks: :thanks: :thanks:

I got to the house where the cat had got out only to find they'd trekked halfway across London to hire a trap, had set it overnight but forgot to check it! Poor cat was in there all dejected, cold and wet but unhurt.

A safety tip for anyone reading this who needs to trap a cat... please check the trap frequently and never ever leave an automatic trap where it can be picked up by passers by, you not only need your trap back but you never know what awful events might befall the poor animal they may have stolen along with your precious equipment.  :scared:

Helping a good friend out with some local neutering next week.  :wow: you know who you are  :cuddle:

Maybelle and Star are over the worst of the Ringworm and the house is as clean as it has ever been.

Razzle and Razwana flew through their operations and will hopefully be off to their sanctuary spaces on Sunday. It's a pity we couldn't bring little Razwana in from the Summerhouse. I'm sure she would turn around and be great mates with Maybelle and Star, at about the same age, and she gave me a lovely purry  cuddle  (alright I gave her no option) and is desperate to get out and investigate.  Still she will be reunited with her folks who went to the sanctuary two weeks ago, so she will be happy and safe back with her old gang.

This weekend is a quiet one, so far, we can't get neutering space at the vets locally as they're all so busy following Christmas break with numerous so animals suffering from mince pie and chocolate cake poisoning to choking on cooked bones, new animals being let out too soon and suffering the consequences - its just so worrying how many people have no clue how to look after their animals!  >:(

Anyway, let's see what comes in, I'm not planning anything else today, I just finished work for the weekend and gave some time to play with my own cats for a couple of hours, what a treat!

Checked on line and the crate is en route  :thanks:

The ringworm is still here but seems to be under control, I just ordered some colloidal silver spray which is supposed to be good for it, and now have Suoalan from the vet for the little bald patches.

Elsa is doing really, really well!  :wow:

Call over the weekend a Semi feral with injured tail...Harry. Trapped him simply using one of the new baskets I ordered with the purrs draw win, then off to the vet for X-rays and neutering. He's been badly bitten but the tail us saved, and one of our volunteers has stepped up to adopt him. Yaay for Harry!  :briggin:

Had a call last night from a sad chap who's new cat escaped and won't come back indoors. Off to see him later and it will be a pleasure to help him get his boy back inside with one of our traps.  ;)

Two kittens will be going to a lovely couple who came to view them at the weekend, and Violet their mum is off to her new home shortly after. We've also had an enquiry through our FB page for the beautiful long haired tortie who we thought may be with us forever  :-: so fingers crossed!

Razzle and Razwana off for their spays today and I'm arranging to help one of Shonaghs contacts locally to get her three cats neutered, it's all good so far!  ;D

Brill I'm pleased that the courier worked out well.  :)

Lyn you're welcome I hope you enjoy our group.  ;D

Here are the latest arrivals, we trapped 8 ferals from this colony before Christmas but these two wouldn't be trapped, yesterday they went in the trap after a long old wait by my pal Tad, and we have now brought them here to the summerhouse pens. The little stripy girl Razwana has a definite oriental look to her! Both booked in for spay on Wednesday, and rescue space is available next weekend but I feel Razwana can be socialised so I have a new project!

I have packed it as best I can so am sending with a wish and a pray  :innocent:

I have applied to join your group too  ;D ;D

Oh yes saw th 15kg on label .........doh! Think well within that cos not as heavy as a large bag of cat litter which I really struggle to lift.

The vunerable bit is the handle on side cos it doesnt quite lie flat.

Must be baked potato time!

Gill its still offering me 31st as an option if you want it shout up!

Lyn, I just added you and see some other familiar faces in our member list too  :welcome: :welcome: :welcome:

This is just our rehoming group, we have two other FB pages that operate variously our CP activities (which we've kept private due to local nosey parkers wanting to know what we're up to and where our trapping activities are happening) and our general cat welfare group for lost and found, discussions and miscellaneous referrals which is called WF4C (Waltham Forest 4 Cats) which is a public group.

Whilst I went to work today, the amazing Tad Davis just trapped two more ferals that are coming to my summerhouse tomorrow, this was a trapping for another local rescue who fell upon logistical difficulties when their transport broke down. We've now trapped all 10 cats and stopped a hoarding situation from getting worse. Neuter and rescue spaces available on Monday so these guys are only in the cooler for the weekend :cheer:

How much notice do they need and do they do parcels this big?

If you have one then you can estimate if my guestimate of weight is about right or do they go on size?
