My scanner came with the Angel Scanner software which checks whether chips are registered as missing.

I've only really scanned my kitties and non-chipped kitties so I'm not sure what comes up on the screen if they are registered as lost. :-/

I've read the instructions  :-[ and the scanner will bring up the telephone number and organisation where the pet was reported lost!  It maybe that if it doesn't and the pet is missing I can ring up my local vets to see if they have any contact details.

I received the Halo Scanner today and at present up loading the software etc.  I've tested on my dog and his chip showed up straight away unlike the little white pocket one I had - that ensued me going to the vets to make sure it was there which it was.

This is going to help identify certain kitties who are roaming around, naming Master Sherpa Tensing as one (see my thread on a stray cat). The thing is once you have the number and it comes up lost what do you do then?
