Bless her.

It must have been mad cat night last night .... I went upstairs to find Rossi up on her tiptoes with her tail all fluffed up like a loo brush and hissing at something in the bathroom.  There is a step down into the bathroom and she refused to go in.  I couldn't work out what she was so wary of until I saw my metal link belt on the floor .... she was convinced it was a snake and wouldn't go anywhere near it ... even after I picked it up to show her it was "safe" .... she just ran off downstairs all fluffed up!

This morning I tried to reintroduce her to the belt and again she ran rushed off and is clearly wary of it!   Least I know if she ever meets a real snake there's no chance she'll be bitten.

Silly cat!
Cats were once gods; they have never forgotten this, nor have the people they own.

At 02.30 this morning we were woken by Blip launching an attack, complete with her rebel yowl and hissing, in our hall.

We staggered out of bed to investigate, at a complete loss as we were locked and secured for the night.  We found nothing unusual, except Blip sitting in the hall.

I didn't get back to sleep immediately and was turning over in my mind what Blip could have seen, so I got up and went back to have another look around.  I found Blip sitting on the table staring fixedly down the hall - at the carrier back full of old clothes I had put by the front door to take to the clothing bank this morning!  Looking at the bag in the light and shadows from the front door, I could imagine that I was looking at a truly enormous black cat - I'm sure that's what Blip must have thought.

I went to the bag and made a major production of rearranging it so that Blip could see it wasn't a cat.  She settled down after that, but I swear she looked embarrassed  :-[
