He's gorgeous and from the photo you wouldn't know that he'd been through so much. Cats are so resilient. Well done Tiggy!   ;D

Liz, people used to ask me if I knew that Chivvy was limping. The looks on their faces were priceless when I pointed out the missing leg  :naughty: !

I have 2 of the three legged variety here at the Clan Master Maverick is 11 and missing his back leg it has never stopped him doing anything and folks adk why he walks with a limp but at pace can outrun the 4 legged kids and then there is Mrs Nasty Miss Maddison Lee our tabby feral gal who is missing a front leg having been caught in a snare she is more awlward but her remaining front leg shreds the humans just fine

The are not treated any differnetly to my 4 legged mob apart from Mav has an extra jump point to get in and Maddison has an upturned laundry basket so she can get on all the windowsills

Agreed - I know my youngest stepdaughter's three legged cat never let it stop him doing the things he wanted.  Cats are hugely inspirational like that.

I remember that my Chivvy  seemed to adapt straight away, cats have no concept of changed body image etc, just know that hurt has gone.

I stopped following this thread upon reading of Tiggy's rta, assuming he had died. I've just caught up with it.

Did Tiggy always see the same vet at the local clinic? If so, they should have had more sense than to treat a cat with such wounds in this way. If it was a different vet, they should have read the notes before calling Tiggy into the examination room and having done so treated Tiggy with a great deal more respect.
As it is, if I took a non-injured cat to the vet, I wouldn't expect them to tip the cage up; that's a stupid way to get a cat out for examination.

Tiggy's person and Tiggy are owed an apology and maybe financial recompense. It's such a shame that the clock can't be turned back to before this happened.

Positive vibes for Tiggy.

He's still not home yet, staying at Carols mum n dads till he's more healed and ready to handle his brother Elmo

I just got home on the first and Carol has put this picture up of Tiggy and hour ago ( minus 1 leg  :( )

I have asked Her how she is doing through facebook ;)

No, I appreciate it could be a very difficult thing to prove as such, and I have no doubt they'd admit to nothing.  Poor Tiggy.  What a waste.

Think I would probably be couching any enquiries in terms of asking why the vet felt it was a safe approach to tip the box up to remove Tiggy, given the very delicate nature of his injuries and the remedial surgery, and what experience that particular vet had had with these kinds of injuries previously which made them feel confident theirs was an appropriate move at that stage in the healing process.   >:(

It's so desperately sad.  My heart goes out to Carol, and most of all to Tiggy.

I'm afraid, my nature being what it is, I'd be asking some very uncomfortable questions of the veterinary practice, and requesting a written explanation.

We have had a setback :( Tiggy went to the vets for a check up and the vet basically tipped the carrier to get tiggy out, neighbour stopped her and shouted " what are you doing? " He still has not got his balance back properly yet! vet then took him out carefully.... neighbour told me that later, she had to get her grandfather to take tiggy to the vet's for a check up, now before going he was basically running about on three legs and his worst leg was slowly coming down to normal position, when Tiggy came back from the vet's he has now no interest in getting out, and his back end is now sideways? he did have feeling in his hind paw before, but that has now gone? Tiggy was then taken through to Aberdeen specialist, pelvis has been knocked out of place again? he will now either have an operation to remove one of his hind legs or He'll be assessed regarding what quality of life he will have as the good leg has a pin in it and his pelvis is not good :'( Tiggy was coming along leaps and bounds till he came back from the local vets the second time, questions have been asked to try and find out what happened, so far there have been no answers. probably never will be.
local vet bill alone has been £2.500

:tired:  Well yes, cats are very much their own masters, and your neighbour will have to have a spine of steel not to buckle under an onslaught of a fully recovered cat keen to go out again.  Mind you, in her shoes I reckon I'd feel the same.

Sending lots more positive vibes for Tiggy, and hoping he doesnt rush his fences.

Well Tiggy is now allowed to get out of the cage and stretch his legs, but He is driving meowmy mad coz he keeps jumping
She is terrified he will knock his pelvis out of place ( again ) and put's him back in the cage, where he will start his incessant
meowing  Mr Tiggs Brother Elmo is still allowed out, but in saying that he is less of a roamer, neighbour still says
she's not going to let Mr Tiggs out ever again................... I have a funny feeling that won't happen

More than happy to top up the vibes for the gorgeous Mr Tiggs.  ;)  Me and Tinks and Moray are sending extremely strong (yet gentle) super stripey and extra healing snoozles for this courageous little soldja.  He's entitled to be feeling a bit sorry for himself.  It's allowed.  And we all want this beautiful boy to be back to his more normal self before long (although injuries like his will need to heal steadily and surely).

Also sending some hugs for you Stuart.  It's been a raw few months of late.

I was in Seeing the MR Tiggs today, what a shame..... it is easy to see he is still in a lot of pain  :(
but at the same time He is very bright, He is eating ok, but is caged and on strict rest... which makes
him meow a lot, think he just want's out to play.

The car that stopped and took tiggy to the vet's saw what happened, Tiggy ran out onto the road after a dog
spooked him from a garden, it was just his hind side that got ran over and the broken jaw may have just been
an injury from the force of impact, I'm Sure Tiggy wouldn't be here if is head had been hit.
He is still not out of the woods yet regarding the nerve damage, so keep those vibes coming  :Luv2:

A little update
this is the message I got from Carol this morning

Hey Stuart Tiggy landed up having to get op done on left side as well on Tuesday. He got home Wednesday and is doing not bad fingers crossed. Just a bit scared to get our hopes up but so far so good. He's now managing a no2 without laxative or enemas which is a Massive relief cos they Didna ken if there was permanent damage there. He must hae some sort of feeling back on His right cos I squeezed his paw 2 nights ago and he bit me n he never does at so must have been sore. There was absolutely nothing fan the vet was squeezing down we a clamp so improvement there aswell.

please keep the vibes coming for Little Tiggy  ;)

Poor wee guy :( Thank goodness someone found him and took him to the vet.

Hope he recovers well, it's amazing what they bounce back from though. My Rocky was run over when he was two and his pelvis was completely shattered. He amazed me and the vet with how well he recovered after two very tricky operations. It certainly never slowed him down and he was a happy little mischief maker until I lost him to kidney disease years later.

Funnily enough, the roast chicken reference below reminded me of him. He once brought a whole roast chicken home on a Sunday afternoon...dragged it under the fence and tried to get it through the cat flap....it was still warm from the oven of one of my neighbours.

I had a hard enough time keeping him off my worktops, I hadn't contemplated having to keep him off my neighbours!!! I was out like a flash hiding the evidence  :shify: :-[
