I have everything crossed for him to pee in the carrier on the way home, or pretty soon afterwards, so that you're not on tenterhooks all day Helen.

Spot on.  Everything crossed that our boy uncrosses his legs and lets it flow asap Helen

;D ;D   Helen, am keeping everything well and truly crossed here that Riley will pee really early on today, so you aren't worrying about it.  Am so pleased that he may be home with you and Lu so very soon now, and sending lots of "smooth transition vibes" as well as "really good peeing vibes"

Sending special thoughts too for Lu, who may have very mixed emotions today.

Am hoping for a comfortable night for him ready to come home and pee in the comfort of his own home. It might be worth getting some puppy pads in, as you said he was wobbly on his feet, just in case he misses the tray?

Is it worth perhaps getting a second tray for him to use with a test kit pack of those crystals with a suction tube thing ....

e.g. http://www.vetuk.co.uk/pet-cystitis-cat-cystitis-c-5_7_1280/smart-cat-urine-test-collection-kit-pack-of-5-p-3315

Am so pleased vet thinks he is strong enough to go home and very much hope he can perform better for his ma Helen  :care:

Well he didn't come home today but with good reason and I agree with the vets decision.

I was only able to collect him after 15:30 today so if he came home and then hadn't wee'd in approx 9 hours that would take us to 03:30 in the morning, not an ideal time to be rushing back to emergency vets so the plan is to collect him at 09:30 tomorrow and he has until 4pm to 'perform' otherwise he'll have to go back  :(

Had another good visit with him though, he is very bright and much less wobbly. No twitches/seizures overnight but he is not on a constant watch anymore. He had a tiny bit of twitching whilst I was with him but nothing too bad.  I've just gone and bought another tray as I plan to keep Riley downstairs with one hooded tray and the other one upstairs for Lu, I got one without a hood in case he doesn't fancy going inside.

Roll on tomorrow morning!
